Not really, Omega let you do an extract from the archive for 75 CHF or so but spending that and waiting 6 weeks is more of an after the fact thing 馃榾

Ok I think I understand, kind of..lol. So although this watch isn't in the database, it's genuine, and watch searches only give you 75% of the story! it's what you see! makes the difference ? Thanks for reply

Omega vintage DB is by no means comprehensive

I'm thinking a redial based on alignment of vertical crosshair through the star and the "l" of Constellation. Also the absence of serifs in Constellation font, or the smeared dot above "i". It just seems less than sharp. I also don't see distinct larger dots at the arrow indices.

This might go for a reasonable price. Pre-pro pre-moon Speedmaster 105.003-65. The dial, hands, pushers and crown look correct. The bezel is probably a service replacement (it's not a "dot over 90" bezel). The case back is correct (and seems to be original), but it has a personalized engraving.

This thread is becoming somewhat of a mine field lately馃檨 ...It used to be a pretty sure thing that any watch recommended here was an original, quality piece. I fear for the unknowing new person who may get stung by this...

Most of the time we get and remove those ones, the nice thing is even when someone does post something like that, there's always a rebuttal of it by one or more people afterwards

Agreed Ash, I was trying to discreetly suggest to some; if your're not sure don't post here, start new thread asking about originality, that's all.馃槜

I know what you mean I've done the same, typically when I delete one that's a bit of a clanger I let the person know that maybe some more reading of Desmond's site is in order before posting more here.

IMHO there are too many recommendations here and rarely it is a watch that really deserves attention...

IMHO there are too many recommendations here and rarely it is a watch that really deserves attention...

It was never intended for NOS 30T2RGs or CK2998-1s, it was intended mainly for decent affordable entry and mid level watches that the bulk of newer members are looking for when starting out which in turn cuts back on the number of threads from a first time poster listing 5 junk grade watches asking which they should buy of the bad bunch.

If there's something like the PAF 2914 that recently sold it belongs in its own thread really like this: http://omegaforums.net/threads/paf-omega-railmaster-on-ebay.14789/

馃榾 I find the recommendations interesting and educational even if the watch in question doesn't meet my 'standards'. And some of the changers have also been helpful, if for different reasons.
