thanks mate for the welcome, ok I just took it as gospel what I saw, is there any site I can use to check a watches serial number and cal. so this watch is what it says it is..lol
Not really, Omega let you do an extract from the archive for 75 CHF or so but spending that and waiting 6 weeks is more of an after the fact thing
Ok I think I understand, kind of..lol. So although this watch isn't in the database, it's genuine, and watch searches only give you 75% of the story! it's what you see! makes the difference ? Thanks for reply
Speedmaster MK4.5, need to factor in a service but doesn't look bad http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-SPEED...238035146?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item1e8e657ecaPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Cheapo with bad pics, after a service and thorough de-gunking could be a good daily wear 752 Seamaster http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Seama...369365054?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item25925d1a3ePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
1 Feedback seller so not exactly the most easily trusted seller... But Cal 320 OT2872: http://www.ebay.com/itm/antique-wat...358241823?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item233da77c1fPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
For all you rose gold, black dial constellation fans, this one looks legit to me. Somebody correct me if I`m wrong! http://www.ebay.com/itm/311015204762?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I'm thinking a redial based on alignment of vertical crosshair through the star and the "l" of Constellation. Also the absence of serifs in Constellation font, or the smeared dot above "i". It just seems less than sharp. I also don't see distinct larger dots at the arrow indices.
This might go for a reasonable price. Pre-pro pre-moon Speedmaster 105.003-65. The dial, hands, pushers and crown look correct. The bezel is probably a service replacement (it's not a "dot over 90" bezel). The case back is correct (and seems to be original), but it has a personalized engraving. http://www.ebay.com/itm/311015063915Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
One more... Pre-moon 105.012 cal. 321 Speedmaster. Dial, Bezel, Hands, Pushers, Crown & Case back all look correct. http://www.ebay.com/itm/131247691090Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
This thread is becoming somewhat of a mine field lately ...It used to be a pretty sure thing that any watch recommended here was an original, quality piece. I fear for the unknowing new person who may get stung by this...
Most of the time we get and remove those ones, the nice thing is even when someone does post something like that, there's always a rebuttal of it by one or more people afterwards
Agreed Ash, I was trying to discreetly suggest to some; if your're not sure don't post here, start new thread asking about originality, that's all.
I know what you mean I've done the same, typically when I delete one that's a bit of a clanger I let the person know that maybe some more reading of Desmond's site is in order before posting more here.
IMHO there are too many recommendations here and rarely it is a watch that really deserves attention...
