Thanks. We'll make this a lot more useful for watch hunting, but wanted to share it with you guys early.

Worth noting is that all of the stats are streaming in real-time. If you bid on an auction, the stats would update instantly too :)

    Cheers

You guys haven't seen the cool part yet, you have to watch an auction AS its ending. The time left bar transforms, and you can see the final bidding activity in realtime, its pretty cool :)

Do I understand that there is an acceptance or vetting by you and the mod's before it is added?
What a great feature that would be for us less talented/experienced collectors.
I found myself always analyzing "Who is posting" on the "Recommended" thread.

What, dont you trust us newbies? ::bleh::

Seriously, this is an AMAZING teaching tool, even if we dont usually bid that much.

each item on the auctions page has an "added by" in the lower left, currently they're being manually added but shortly the full moderator crew will be able to add items, the idea is to just take them from these threads, and make them more accessible.

I'm only a sophomore and definitely not the "sharpest knife in the drawer" but my knowledge has advanced from the
"I don't know what I don't know" stage to the "I am fully aware of what I don't know" level.

In this hobby, when dealing with strangers or casual acquaintances, believe nothing you are told and only half of what you see.

The best ones are recommended off the "recommended" thread ::facepalm1::. I call it proactively seeking for recommendation.......:D

Hopefully this will mature in to a very effective auction vetting/curation tool. We've released it early so everyone in the community can have their say and take part in how the auctions section evolves.

    Ash & Trev,

Just curious, what would be the business model and process for OF auction?
Couldn't wait to see it live.

can the last bidder's username/eBay name be shown, or would that be too much / irrelevant?

Where are they supposed to get that info from?
Ebay doesn't show this any more.

This is something rather interesting, if you've got an 18k vintage Omega, and you want to finish it off with a full 18K YG OEM deployant:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-WATCH...Domain_0&hash=item2ed1e3a332&autorefresh=truePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I think its the larger size, 18mm going by the model number 94521861 but with retail for the 16mm being ~$2500 from Ofrei its not too bad. Really want an 18K RG version for my Cal 320 Chrono

The business model for this is fairly open-ended at the moment, we're more focused on developing the technology to see how feasible it is moving forward.

It should also be made clear that running the recommended-auctions section and our own future auctions platform are entirely separate things. They may end up sharing some user interface components.
