Well, if you had a time machine to head back to those wonderful days where 16700's were $2800... I remember buying my GMT because the submariners were north of 4k and I didn't have enough in the paypal account. 馃榾

Halios from Vancouver BC has gained lots of traction and I believe the have a bezel that acts as a GMT which has gained plenty of momentum!

I've heard. I went on their website and I have done some reading. They do have a good following and apparently a very nice product. The problem is that they put out so few you have to win a raffle to buy one! There is no GMT available on their site right now. I heard somewhere that they will not be putting one out until they can source a proper jumping hand GMT movement. I applaud them. I wish I had the time and patience to wait that out and hope to win a raffle, but I don't. I will leave it to others to chase that unicorn!

The Tudor Black Bay GMT's now seem to be in stock at many locations, I might pick one up closer to the weekend.

I've seen versions of this in the 2800 to 3500 range. Nice if you want something along the dressy edge of the spectrum. iwc-pilots-spitfire-utc-steel-mens-iw325107-watch-0-1-650-650.jpg

I'll second the Zodiac, I had pretty much the OPs requirements, was fence sitting for a long time about which GMT way to jump then saw this and haven't looked back.

Same here with the requirements, but I wanted something a little less extroverted than the Zodiac (which is truly beautiful, but a lot of the travel I do is for work). So I went with the Yema, can't wait til it ships later this year!

It is an ETA though so if the jumping hour is super important, it might not fit the bill.

Like I said before, the jumping hour hand is not a deal breaker, but it is very convenient to have!

On another subject, does anyone own a Hamilton Jazzmaster Traveler 2 GMT? It is bigger than I want and the lugs are large so it probably wears big. Just wondering what you all think?

42mm
ETA 2893-2
WR 200mm

I'd want to know if the second crown rotates the 24-hour scale, or the dive scale. It looks nice but I'm personally not into a fixed 24-hour scale

From what I read on the Hammy Jazzmaster the second crown rotates a countdown bezel. I'm not sure what that has to do with the overall GMT theme. It seems to be an additional feature not related to a second or third time zone. It has 200m WR but it is clearly not a dive watch. Nevertheless, it is a good looking piece.

Hey there,

I owned the C65 GMT Pepsi when it first came out a few months back - I kept it for a couple of months. It was pretty nice - I liked how slim it was. Definitely try to buy it used if you can, or look for a promotion as CW tends to have sales from time to time.

Overall it was a beautiful watch - I loved the aluminum Pepsi bezel and the red GMT hand. Only thing was the lug design just left something lacking for me - I think I was too used to the size of the lugs on my 2220.80 and my PO8900.... so going back to such a slim watch didn鈥檛 work for me.

I'm not sure I understand. What about the lugs didn't you like? Was it the fact that it wore too slim or small for your taste?

...some shortcomings as far as my desired specs are concerned. First, the WR is only 100m. As a travel watch I would really like more WR because it may encounter lots of water play...

...

Your water play must be pretty serious.

I'd rather not sidetrack this since the thread is staying on course, but to answer your question; boating, shallow dives, heavy snorkeling, and yes, long days at the beach and pool. I don't necessarily want this watch for all of those things, but it is nice to know it can handle them if called upon to do so.

There's nothing on that list that a 50m WR watch couldn't handle.

If it's a maschimo thing then fine, that's an argument that's difficult to counter with rational thought, but if it is only for the sake of actually keeping the innards of your watch dry then a properly maintained watch with a 50m WR will do just fine 馃榾

Where did you find out this information? I鈥檇 be tempted to go find one myself, if this is the case.

I look forward to your long list of GMT watches that look as good (or better) for similar (or less) money...
yea, wasn't really thinking when I wrote that.....some others on my list = SM300M 50th, SINN 857, Oris Aquis GMT...all are more $$ than the Farer but definitely on my list. Again, the Farer is under consideration FOR ME, because it is "relatively" less expensive and I won't get too worked up if I somehow "ruin" it

tinternet\googling this morning gave several results of watches in stock in the UK.
The first place I called was very strange, ended up speaking to the manager who confirmed the watch was in stock but would not allow me to pay for it in full today and collect it in a few weeks time when I'm in town.
He also said the watch is not on display and they would prefer the watch to be sold to a returning or local customer, but he did say that he would expect several of my local SD's to have stock and advised me to buy from there.

Certina would be under $1000

Also Orient Star looks pretty cool.
