Well I get the Samuel barber reference but not the additional Sam (Worthington/Avatar/Sully) at the beginning. I only really know his adagio for strings and piano concerto so that's me !!

Identifying the clues will yield the nickname for this individual. What was his name? If you decipher the rebus, posting a picture would suffice as an answer.

And here's your Platinum Star (I'm a bit sick of gold ones).

Wow! Who’d a thought, considering the skimpy clues! Brilliant. I was prepared to dribble out a few tiny clues if necessary. Erik Satie only wore 3-piece grey velvet suits when out in public. He had many suits, all the same. His music was as peculiar as he was. Since rhodium sell for three times the price of gold, and six times the price of platinum, let’s make this a rhodium star. Well done! It would take a brother musician to identify a chap who became known as “the Velvet Gentleman”! I don’t know who devised the nick name, or when. He is not among the most widely known composers. I love his music.

Here’s an easy one for a busy Saturday because I know you have other things to do. The clues will lead you to the individual’s name. Give me this individual’s nickname, and the given name, and post a picture if you like.

That was quick! I was just about to add a clue to the rebus. I’ll put it here instead. How does this clue assist in giving the name (not the stage name) of Tiny Tim?

Well, an easy one since we now know who he is.

Cowrie = Khaury

Time for another?

Now for one that might be a bit tougher. But then I’m never sure!

Well my first guess was
Buck
Nag
Sub
Ski

But then I recognised the Kursk, it was a big thing at work at the time when I was in shipbuilding, so a search for Buck Nag Kursk Ski turned up a likely candidate.

Well, I’ll be d _ _ _ _d! Just when I thought I had come up with the rebus of all rebuses that would fool you all, and you pulled it off! Not only that, you did it within the 12 hours after I posted it! I hardly know hat to say, except WELL DONE! Bronc +nag+Kursk+ski = Bronco Nagurski, a fellow with a Canadian connection who played in the NFL. You lot are unbeatable!
