I suspect this one might be too easy. I’ll try and cobble together a harder rebus.

I did wonder if the solve was

The river of tears but given the lone figure on the oath, perhaps

The way of Mary

Blood - Blood
Villefranche-sur-Mer - Mer
ID - id
Ian Anderson - ian

Blood Meridian
- A novel by Cormac McCarthy

If that's correct it was the last two images that gave it away. Once I had 'idian' the rest jumped out.

Nice solve

I’ve only read ‘the road’ but probably need to delve deeper

The road was excellent

Not an easy read - especially for a farming descendant of colonial ancestors.

No Country for Old Men is also a great read and not as dark as The Road. Blood Meridian is a masterpiece along with The Border Trilogy IMHO. As an aside, i find many of the songs from Bob Dylan's 1970 Self Portrait album are in synch with the themes of The Border Trilogy and Blood Meridian, songs like Little Sadie, Alberta and Spanish is the Loving Tongue.

Haven’t read that either though the film was compelling… clearly time for me to read more of his work
Currently 2/3 through catch 22 - 600 pages and feels like it could have been covered off in an extended 30-50 page pamphlet

I felt the same. Always felt the idea of the story was better than the book.
