Bernard Madoff, the Ponzi scheme fraudster.
Radiator.
Hour.
Flag of Germany.

Rad + hour = Radhauer?
That’s the only german surname I can muster.

Some of the components are there, in your answer. But keep trying.

Looks like @JimInOz and @studeb both have earned a star with the right answer. Konrad Adenauer! Well done!

A two clue rebus. The subject represented by these two clues, wrote a book. I need a picture of the author, and the name of the book. Have a go at this one! The aforementioned author is not the subject shown in the clues. But you will need to identify him to ferret out the name of the individual I have in mind. 😁

Man on the Flying Trapeze

Is this a puzzle, or an answer to a puzzle? If it is a puzzle, I’ll guess W. C. Fields.

It was an answer to a puzzle, apologies i did that incorrectly.
I was aiming for WC Fields, thinking the picture was Walter Cronkite, but as M'Bob said it is Xavier Cugat

You were correct. It is W C FIelds, NOT Walter Cronkite, or Xavier Cugat! It works best when you are answering a rebus, to hit the REPLY button on the rebus you are answering, so there is context to your answer. Again. You posted a picture of W C Fields. Was that a reply to a rebus, or a rebus?

Xavier Cugat is the guy in the picture. But not the subject of the rebus. To name the person the rebus is about, you will need his name in order to identify the person who is the subject of the rebus. You are sooooooooo close to naming the person. You’ll need to think about the second clue in order to arrive at the name.

A long shot, this… Frank Miller, author of 300

Frank being a diminutive of Francis, Cugat’s first name.
Windmill - miller.

Not sure about the author clue. Miller was more of an illustrator, so I’m pretty sure I’m barking up the wrong tree.

Seems as though a clue might be needed. The subject is a female. She wrote several books, but I’m asking for the title of her first book. The information I have is that she is still alive.

‘Nuther clue. Add an A at the end of Cugat’s first name!
