Exactly! Dr. Jonas Salk! It is remarkable how medical science has advanced. The symptoms appeared in the late 18th century. The virus was identified in 1909. Dr. Jonas Salk discovered a vaccine in the 1950s. Approximately 160 between discovery and cure. Yet today, we have several vaccines which have been developed in under18 months!
