Pull ya bloody head in!
It may've escaped your attention but the language is actually called English due to it's origin being in England, It isn't called American!
There are regional variations that are considered acceptable, such as Australian English, New Zealand English, Sth African English, Scottish English, Irish English etc. there is even a barbaric corrupt form called US English.
The English language itself is derived from a mixture of European languages such as French and German with a lot of local Celtic influence, or are you going to criticise their use of their own languages too? And yes I spelt criticise without using a bloody Zed just like it's supposed to be for the rest of us.
The thing is that all the rest of us who don't speak US English don't crack a hissey fit whilst spitting the dummy and throwing all the toys outta the pram, whenever we hear you lot take to the language with a bloody butcher's cleaver!
If you don't understand any of those words or expressions......look 'em up! For once I'm not going to bother doing you the courtesy of translating.
The world doesn't revolve around you......you're just crawling around on it like the rest of us! Please have the good manners to be as tolerant of the rest of us as we are of you.
We English speaking peoples are divided by a common language....don't go making things worse!
^^ ah, the ol' 'taking a piss', I believe 😎

A very old English phrase by William Shakespeare comes to mind to sum up your lengthy reaction:

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks"
It was thé winter of my discontent.

Just throwing a sabre toothed tiger amongst the pigeons to remind them that there are others to consider before continuing with their pile on.
We should celebrate our differences

It's funny how the written word makes everyone seem extremely worked up, when the reality is more like "mild annoyance."

So true! I'm no spring chicken and the overwhelming majority of people I have met travelling all over the United States and to other countries have been genuine, kind, and interested in other points of view and learning about cultures/swapping stories over a meal & drinks.

Personally I think history will look back and point to 2 factors as substantial contributors to amplifying differences vs. what we have in common: The rise of 24/7 "news" in the 80's and "Social" Media Apps in the 2000's. Not creating them, division has always existed, but amplifying them with an efficiency and volume never seen before.

Not enough real news to report 24/7/365 in the world so rambling tribal focused editorials eventually became the norm in US "news" media.

Social Media personal use seems to mostly be narcissistic self-promotion and doom scrolling reactions for validation or generating drama. So many people that want to be influencers/seek fame/adoration, etc.

I find it very strange and unhealthy to be so vain and self-focused; IMO true joy and happiness comes from real relationships with the people we love that love us back and the friendships we treasure. What else can I take with me when the grim reaper shows up someday! I mean I'll leave my Speedmaster on but that's just wishful thinking it will cross over with me.

Rant over 😀

We are still a young country compared to so many others that have been around many hundreds or thousands of years. We have as much to learn as we do to offer from other countries. Unfortunately there are rigid people here and in every country that live in bubbles where ignorance and pride rules. So sad, life is short! I want to meet as many cool people as I can while I can and learn as much as possible. Also enjoy their traditional food and drink while doing it. We are not animals after all! 😀

You can tell who wrote the spell correct for many programs. I get quite annoyed at spell correct telling me that I have spelled jewellery, humour, and colour, incorrectly. Piffle!

Most Americans I know can't distinguish "than" from "then", "you're" from "your", so I wouldn't think the British spelling of a word in there will upset too many people :🍿:
Yeah o

The word is responsibility, not responsability. And rep is rap. Doesn’t matter whether you’re U S or not, these are the spellings.

I wasn't offended by it. I simply thought that you were ranting over what amounts to nothing. If you noticed a website or a magazine advertisement in your locale that was using the American version of words that are spelled differently than their British equivalents, wouldn’t you find that odd and wonder why the American versions of those words were used? I think that you would and so do you. Other than my larger point - that modern Constellations are unattractive IMO - that was all that I was saying. Why you felt the need to launch into a diatribe over something that innocuous is mystifying. Like Dan, I initially attributed your response to alcohol, but after you pronouced yourself "frighteningly sober," I have to conclude that you simply lack the interpersonal skills to have a civil conversation with a barbaric American. This response was checked for spelling and grammar so as not to offend you as a proper English speaking British citizen. Have a pleasant evening.

Some Américans saved my life just because they wanted to do the right thing and they risked their lives. I will never forget
