Really Omega?

I received an email from Omega this morning and the embedded link took me to this:
Aside from these new Constellations being hideous IMO, what’s with using the British spelling of jewelry on the USA website? Am I supposed to think that Omega is somehow more sophisticated as a result of using the British idiom? Omega, just between you and me, it’s not working. And please, for the love of God, go back to making Constellations that look like this:

Damn right. And get off my lawn! 😁
Back in my day, the Omega Constellation looked hot. Like Marilyn Monroe in her prime. And today they look like some malnourished runway model.

I like the way the Brits spell things, like jewellery and aluminium and colour. After all, they've been speaking English longer than we have 😀

I received that email too.

Opened it up expectantly, hoping for an Omega creation worthy of the distinguished Constellation name...but to no avail.

40 years from now, these sphincter-dial Constellations will have their own fan-boy thread on OF

I got the email, and the subject "The New Constellation is here" set very high expectations... I hoped maybe even something for the Globemaster... but it was just wishful thinking.

It's a mystery why Omega just can't seem to get it right with the modern Constellation when the company is doing so many other things really well with the other model lines.

Pull ya bloody head in!
It may've escaped your attention but the language is actually called English due to it's origin being in England, It isn't called American!
There are regional variations that are considered acceptable, such as Australian English, New Zealand English, Sth African English, Scottish English, Irish English etc. there is even a barbaric corrupt form called US English.
The English language itself is derived from a mixture of European languages such as French and German with a lot of local Celtic influence, or are you going to criticise their use of their own languages too? And yes I spelt criticise without using a bloody Zed just like it's supposed to be for the rest of us.
The thing is that all the rest of us who don't speak US English don't crack a hissey fit whilst spitting the dummy and throwing all the toys outta the pram, whenever we hear you lot take to the language with a bloody butcher's cleaver!
If you don't understand any of those words or expressions......look 'em up! For once I'm not going to bother doing you the courtesy of translating.
The world doesn't revolve around you......you're just crawling around on it like the rest of us! Please have the good manners to be as tolerant of the rest of us as we are of you.
We English speaking peoples are divided by a common language....don't go making things worse!

Thanks for the tirade (American spelling). Not sure why you felt a need to rant. My observation was simply that I thought it odd to use the British spelling of jewelry on the U.S. website, but that’s just me. By the way, I’m of British descent on both sides of the family, one of my two undergraduate degrees is a B.A. in English, and I write quite a bit of English every day in my profession. So lighten up (American) or piss off (British).

A very old English phrase by William Shakespeare comes to mind to sum up your lengthy reaction:

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks"
