Really disappointed with service at Omega boutique.

This thread is something else. Hair splitting at its finest. In French the expression for this is "enculage de mouches". I'll let you Google Translate that...

Feel sorry for you but mine was even worse 馃榿. Now have the new version from 2023 and all is perfect and improved. I ve searched chrono24 and 50% of the 2020-2021 was misaligned.

I don't get how anyone can tell from a pic if it's misaligned or not. Those rectangle things aren't flat so any angle you have when taking the picture is going to make it appear misaligned. Or am I not getting this?

I am amused at the nitpicking of new car owners who go over their $60,000 + cars with vernier calipers, measuring panel gaps, misaligned body panels, etc.

I want to hear more stories about how the luxury manufacturers would always make it right when a stich was slightly off-center in one of his $10k purses. I cannot imagine the humiliation on might experience due to such a condition.

It's like buying a new car and finding 37 miles on the odometer when you take delivery. Send it back!

Ill try find another photo. it was really easy to see. I was no worried about it too much. In the beginning I was planning to go to my ad to ask them to fix it but I passed. It was hand assembled so very hard to do it properly especially after weekend 馃榿.

Tabarnak!

My dad was born and raised in Montreal and mostly swore in French. I heard a lot of "sacrament" and "tabarnak" when growing up. My mom says when I was 2 yrs old I started saying "saca-manak" which was my attempt at using my dad's swear words 馃榾

The real confusing one is "tabarouette"... it's not even a word!

In Denmark, we have the exact corresponding expression "flueknepperi", which interestingly is so common that it is used in circumstances where you would normally take great care to avoid any profanities.

Without casting aspersions to our long-departed OP, it seems that the societal trend to blame everyone for everything else, and to expect retailers to take back anything and everything for whatever perceived injustice was served upon the poor unfortunate, has gotten a bit out of hand. Not unlike my poorly written sentence, above. LOL

I mean, this is the Omega forum, right, not the Rolex place? Or God forbid, Rennlist (Porsche)? "The deviated stitching on my $15,000 leather covered dash on my $175,000 sports car that was designed for the race track but will never go beyond my local Interstate highway, has a slight mark on it where a careless car wash boy didn't use the proper chamois on it!!!!!!"

No offense intended here - I own a Rolex and I used to have a 911 or two.

And I'm guessing that the store that he/she used to work at was a company store, not an independent boutique such as our favored watch retailers. Even so, can you imagine the conversation?

"Hello, I need to return this purse."

"Of course, what is the matter?"

"Well you see here how the buckle does not align with the clasp."

"Oh my, my, that is HORRIBLE! My most sincere apologies."

"I'd like a refund."

"But of course. If you would provide me with your sales receipt, I would be happy to refund your funds back to your original method of payment."

"I have no receipt."

"No problem, I can look it up in our system. Your name please, with my apologies for not remembering the spelling?"

"I didn't buy it here."

"Oh, well, then perhaps you can tell me where you bought it, so that I may ring them and get the information?"

"Well, uh, it was this guy, in New York."

"Yes, we have several boutiques in New York City, which one?"

"Um, 42nd street."

"42nd, we, I don't believe we have a store there."

"It was the subway stop at 42nd."

"Oh?"

"Perhaps 43rd. I'm not sure. It was dark, and I had to walk a few blocks."

"What was the store name?"

"Ford?"

"Ford?"

"Ford Econoline. It was a white van."

"Uh huh."

"I insist on a refund! You have to honor the warranty!"

"Do you have a warranty card?"

"I'll be back. But not until after I blast you on the Internet, give you a bad Google review and beat you up on Yelp!"

Nordstrom in the US was famous for giving refunds for merchandise that was well used, not bought at the store or even stocked by Nordstrom. I think they finally woke up and figured out they were constantly being duped by a dishonest public.

LL Bean also. Lifetime warranty for their brand name products. People definitely exploited it. They would scour thrift stores for old and damaged items and bring them to the store for replacement by a new item.

Leatherman as well. I lost the tiny spring that holds the screwdriver bit in its holder so I emailed Leatherman to ask if I could buy a replacement spring. Their reply was, "We don't supply that part, but if you send us the tool we'll send you a new one" ...and that's what happened. I originally bought the tool 10 years ago.

Same with Le Creuset. I contacted them to say my espresso cup had cracked and they just sent me a new one. I鈥檝e heard of people having casserole dishes for years and getting a new one for free when the old one failed in some way
