I believe the reason they never made replacement dial was simply they didn't sell enough Ranchero's to warrant making replacement dial .I might be wrong there hence a genuine ones are hard to come buy.
I think that's a very good explanation.馃憤

What about this one? (I know took bad photo) but reading all the above - looks like the fonts on numbers look original. Swiss made is centered. I know missing the lume on hands. What's one like this worth today ?

sorry.. should of been more specific ..I'm trying to work a deal with the owner, but I want to make sure that the dial is original and not a redial.

You all think original or redial?

Dial looks good, just an FYI : a new set of original radium hands will cost you about 900-1200 $.

Cheers,
Max

but a good watchmaker can re-lume the original hands to match the color of the dial markers.

The dial looks original, I am not 100% sure about the lume on the dial. From the figures it seems to be kind of glossy, which appears little unusual to me. Nearly all (including mine) have a quite large grain size of the lume making it look rather "sandy" than glossy.
Any pictures under black-light: What color does the lume show under UV-light excitation, how quickly does it fade, is sun-/lamp light sufficient?

Crown indeed is not original. Hard to get, sometimes some can be found on EBAY (for a few minutes, only, until they are gone. I have recently seen some on EBAY which are nearly correct (6mm instead of 5,5mm in diameter).

What is the condition of the back, still the circular grinding or polished mirrorlike? What is the number on the movement?
