Hello again! I was browsing on eBay and found this vintage Omega. Now the seller has offered me a deal for 570€, including S&H (from France to Switzerland).

Could someone with better eye and knowledge help me see if it's worth it? 🤔

What ever happened to the 65 to 120 Omega? I do not see this being much more that 300 to 380 local currency units.

I apologise for my ignorance, but what do mean? Not the price, the more technical part... 😅

Technically, It is what I collect. I call 'em rat watches. I would not mind having it, but not at twice the price. As far as watches go they did not get much better than this. Practical, accurate, and rugged has hell. Doubt there will ever be a better watch mass produced. Really easy to work on.

But I still want my 10 cent mars bars. And full sized too.

I can propose a counteroffer, how low do you think I should go, reasonably?

I'm stunned you can buy any real Omega for less than 500 in this condition. Are there examples of sales for a watch like this for less than 400 to 500? 65 to 120? Are those prices? I see 601 cal mvmnts for under 300 but not complete, interesting watches.

There were watches with "Geneve" on the dial and "Seamaster" on the case, but 570 for this watch... Haven't you started running yet?😂

Prices have doubled in the last three months. I think without international de minumus trade, the world trade is drying up. The stock held be the Florida importer is not being replenished. Canada is also now off the table. I was regularly buying from Switzerland before certain things happened. I do not think this is going to bring back US domestic manufacturing or jobs. Even Swiss Jobs. But that is OT.

It could be I am getting more pickey. Or have way more than I need.

As for condition, the OP watch will still need a 300 to 800 service. Or the equivalent in personal time credits if one self services.

I just saw this on ebay, and usingi it as an example...priced under 600...I can see why those in the know would definitely not buy the OP watch. Yet another reminder for me to STAY IN MY LANE....far from dress watches.

Oh I couldn't possibly do it myself... 😬

I definitely see your point. Thanks. 🙂

Looks rough. I wouldn’t pay half the asking price.

It’s also the smaller 32mm version, not the 34mm full size.
