Question about Tritium colour...?

So.. It seems that i may have found a Moonwatch one that fits between known extract serials that land it squarely in 1993!

The price is alright, comes with original box, is in fairly neat condition - However i noticed some darkness/discoloration around some of the hour markers - I was hoping somebody could shed some light on what the cause could be? or if this is.. i guess 'normal'?

Thanks
Mike

It鈥檚 very minimal so I wouldn鈥檛 worry too much. It鈥檚 hard to find a vintage Speedmaster with perfectly yellow lume.

It鈥檚 usually attributed to environmental condition such as high humidity or minor water ingress

The lume on the hour markers looks fine. Within the normal range of imperfection.

However, I'd try to get better pics of the hands. The lume in there looks like it's partly/mostly gone and much much darker (not so pleasant).

Those are small spots of mold. And in general, the lume seems very thin and missing in spots. Perhaps it was very moldy and someone tried to wash it - just speculating.

Oh interesting thread, really informative about the dark hand lume, seen that on a few watches and was curious about it

It may be legit, honest, and even common, but nobody will convince me that it's attractive. Not to me. 馃ぎ
