You mention these 4 countries, are they the only countries that produced under licence for Omega or were there any others ?
I’m sure there are others. I just can’t recall them.

Dennison for example didn’t stamp their cases with the Omega stamp until 1953. Assume others could be similar?
Maybe yes, maybe no. In the 4 countries mentioned above (including UK), it is likely. For other countries, likely not. There are many stories of South American jewelers buying used watches and reselling them in locally made, but not Omega licensed gold cases.

That’s great, thanks for the reply. 😀
I’m enjoying digging around and I’m finding discrepancies here and there. This post war period led way to much innovation, so anomalies do pop up.

It’s funny how South America always gets mentioned when it comes to gold cases of this period, as if it’s assumed that if it isn’t stamped Omega then it must be from South America. However it stands to reason that there will have been numerous fine case makers with access to gold, albeit in limited quantities, that produced cases across Europe and not just in France 😉

That may be true, but most countries’ distributor s imported Omega watches whole. So there was really no reason for local case makers to produce gold cases unless they were re-casing used watches. These would be one-of custom cases that would be extremely difficult to identify.

Since we don’t have records regarding non-Swiss made cases, we have to do the best we can, and that is use logic to make some assumptions based on the data we do have.
