Another photo has been released. This does have a wave dial, and it definitely appears to have smaller lug to Lug and case dimensions.

There has got to be an announcement for this and maybe other colors.

As usual I am in the small minority of fans that LOVE dates on the watch because I forget stuff easily, however I love the sleek black profile of this watch. Someone on another post commented about the future of the lineup and was curious myself but I’m sure this wouldn’t be a one and done watch, I think and would fit in just in time for the Goldeneye X Omega 30th anniversary partnership

I believe the reason the NTTD is thinner is because of the solid back. You see this with Speedmasters too, the sandwich models are noticeably thicker than the solid backs.

In recent years this has not been universally true, the current Sapphire sandwich speedy is 13.2 mm thick vs the hesalite version, which is 13.6mm thick iirc. Prior generation 1863 Sapphire sandwich was 13.5 mm vs what, ~~14mm thick hesalite? Omega's display case backs have gotten thinner or at least, not always resulted in a thicker Sapphire version.

That said, I'm still in camp steel caseback on this, but don't think we'll get it.

Edit: just caught up on the conversation here since last night.

What makes you so sure it’s smaller?

Is it not just a black version of the Bond 60th? Go once more to the well Omega!

While I like the curved crystal and no date dial of that and the NTTD, that bracelet is not a winner to me either in steel or titanium form. I am surprised Staib came up with such a poor design, they normally make excellent stuff. If you don't know what I mean, try one and see how badly it fits and how fat it is near the clasp. Not great.
If your wrist is 17cm or smaller you need to take the shorter version, then it fits alright.

Lol, that's a lot of if's for Omega to do...

Lol, yeah. Thankfully they won't make that big of a change so my next Omega is still safely the Hesalite Speedmaster, probably.

I'm not sure, that's, speculation on my part. It appears to have less lug to lug than the current Seamaster professional. But that easily could be, simply because it is not on the bracelet. I can't say.

Interesting, Got any links to show that, are you comparing models in the same generation? I've had quite a bit of Speedy experience and I'm rather surprised by that and can't see how it is right. In fact it doesn't tally with my experience at all having owned both std and saph sandwich models. The glass back is usually much thicker. I have plenty of SMP experience too, in double figures in fact, yes I have a problem lol.

It's a well known fact that the 3861 Speedmaster in hesalite with solid back is thicker than the sapphire with sapphire back, due to the more domed hesalite crystal.

I've held them both and remember this, however omega's website currently lists both sapphire and hesalite 3861 references at 13.2mm thick currently.

I would recommend either using this measure as official or finding a measure online where somebody has used calipers

The 1863 I own is definitely thinner than the 1861. The crystal on the 1861 has a much more attractive Dome- which accounts for a lot of the height.

Also, maybe this is wishful thinking, but does he have massive wrists or is it possible they downsized the watch? (It’d be so clutch if it were 39mm.)
I'd be interested in a 39 mm SMP

Claimed to be a leak but it’s on Reddit so I really don’t know

No, it's literally the mockup I made yesterday, stolen and repurposed on Reddit. That extended lug is just whoever made it has incorrectly cropped the background on that corner. You can tell it's mine because of my hypothesis (later proved to be wrong) that the bezel had removed the lines under numerals, so I swapped them out for dots. Subsequent photos show that's not correct, it's the standard bezel with lines.

I don't really care some Redditor has taken my mockup, it's not like I own the intellectual property, but it is funny they've passed it off as a leak when I literally put "Jakeys mockup for OF" in the image. 😜

You were eventually given credit in that thread! 👍
