A New White Dialed Speedmaster on Daniel Craig?

Courtesy of Omega Bond Watches on Instagram ( follow if you don't ), Daniel Craig was wearing an intriguing white dialed, red lettered Speedmaster that the eagle eyes on Instagram have said isn't a gold variant. It looks like a 42mm to me.

Thoughts?

Looks like a mix of Italian Albino, Tokyo LE and Apollo 11… 😁

Already a few threads on this. Looks like a 2020 Tokyo Olympics speedie but with a black bezel.

I'd initially thought it was a Canopus but the color of the markers, hands and what looks like a red 'Speedmaster' font suggest otherwise.

Does look like a Rising Sun with a black bezel, though it looks like the markers aren't polished.

It's a pretty crummy photo but I don't think that's a Rising Sun dial. The dial in the pic looks like a matte creme or white dial, the Rising Sun dial is silverish with a pronounced 'sugary' texture, I don't get that feeling in that poor picture. What would be the purpose of putting that dial on with a black bezel? Call me sceptical.

Love it! Please share the thread links if you have them.
(Doesn’t look like a Tokyo 2020. The white dial Tokyo is a Panda dial… This looks more like a Italian Albino with red letter Speedmaster)

Not saying it is or it isn’t but when I tried on a Canopus Gold example a couple months back I did notice that the hour markers and hands went pretty dark depending on the angle that the watch face was rotated in relation to the viewer. I also don’t see the red Speedmaster lettering that was mention on IG. Additionally, the dial went quite light depending on the angle. I didn’t take a great photo of this effect but here the one I did take.

That said, could definitely be something else just figured I share my observations when trying it on.

The red writing is the distinguishing clue…..plus, if DC is going to be at this NYC thing, a drop in release on his wrist is genius. The photo poses were designed to show it off…..IMHO

Okay, I went and looked at the video on Omega's IG Reels, also learned you can do burst screenshots on an iPhone, here are some screen grabs and the link for anyone who is curious. After taking a closer look, I agree, the Speedmaster writing does not look to be black.

Incidentally we should see Daniel Craig appear in Knives Out 3 in 2024, reprising the role of Benoit Blanc. In Knives Out 1 he had a vintage Seamaster De Ville, in the second movie, Glass Onion he wore a Seamaster 1948 70th anniversary LE. The director is also a Speedmaster fan so maybe we will see this appear in the third movie.

From the way he wears it it’s almost as Omega really want us to notice the watch.

To me Omega’s problem is that they have done almost everything earlier. A white dialled Speedmaster is cool and everything but I find it hard to get excited

I dunno. They have some of the best vintage motifs in their back catalogues of any modern watch company. The dressier vintage seamasters from the late 40s-70s are almost perfect and I'd happily buy a true update of those watches. If this is truly a white dialed SS Speedy - I think it could be a big deal. The red writing would add pop and it would have the current movements and bracelets over any earlier version. I'd buy and be happy I did.

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING!!! Those Knives Out movies are brilliant and assuming they can keep the run going, we might see DC doing Benoit Blanc for a while. It would be very "on brand" for him to be sporting a speedmaster in those movies. PLUS, the photo shoot was clearly a "drop" - we are supposed to be doing exactly what we're doing on this.
