Thank you for contributing to OF. The details you've shared are immensely valuable to those of us with less experience. 馃憤

Definite fake, sadly. The seller, 3duacon, does a lot of fake recased pocketwatches and has sold a ton of these fake Polerouter Subs. 3duacon also sold one or two fake Polarises for over $15,000.

$15K? 馃槻 I need to rethink my business model. Regards, Bill

Looking at all of these fakes and what they sell for, I can't help but wonder if the bidders realize there is a reason why these watches are selling at a fraction of what an original would sell. Are they ignorant that they are fake, or do they just not care? I'm willing to give a pass to someone who sells a watch they don't know is fake, but I absolutely despise scum like the sellers in the links above who knowingly do it.

@LouS thanks for putting this summary together for the forum

I wondering if anyone can help me identify this watch. Clearly it's a UG Polerouter Sub, but it unlike any that I've seen before. This is the only one that I've found that doesn't have the Red U logo and text. Is it possible that this is a first generation model that is not a super compressor?

Something that I find odd is that the crown is not a screw down crown. Comparable I suppose to the early NAIAD Omega crowns

Any help and information would be greatly appreciated.

What would an UG polerouter sub in this condition tend to fetch on the open market?

Thanks
Jay

Jay,
We've responded to many of these queries on the thread that you started on this watch. Regarding your question about the crown: Do you have a side shot of the crown? Is it signed? You're going to have to give us more to work with.

Two more fakes on the 'bay. Interesting to look at other items and past items to see the other fakes being made. There is a Rolex with the national emblem of Oman on it that must have been added.

Here is another affiliated seller. Started listing a fake Rolex 6062 on one account, ended it, and relisted on this account:

found a orange one (credit: unknown)

a red one (credit: unknown)

and a black one you can see on the one from Laurent.

Was doing some research on Polerouter Subs and came upon this thread. The "orange" bezel watch is mine. It is the photo that makes the bezel look orange. The actual bezel color is "red" just like the red example pictured.

Sorry to zombie resurrect this thread, but thought if I found it doing research, I might as well make it more accurate.

First execution case with curved lugs but with a second execution dial i.e. full lume (or relumed?) rather than lume dots. Dial also missing "Polerouter Sub" and "Automatic" text. The case looks ok but there look to be some signs of the lower quality steel you see on the Australian fakes of the second execution. I think the original top crown would usually have been signed on a first execution. What else have I missed?

It is a redial for sure as explained above, I don't think the crowns were signed on those first gen (at least not on mine).
Are the spring bars fixed on this one? Not sure I have seen this before.....

The more I look at it the more I find it a miss match.... case looks ok to me at first sight, as crowns (2 identical crowns have been seen before), but:
- the redial is poor quality, look at the relume of the indexes
- bezel insert if from second generation on a first generation case
- I don't like the black spots around the bezel, sometimg looks wrong to me

The lume plots look like that old candy with sugar dots on paper. Or maybe it was LCD blots on paper? For same reason I can't remember.

@LaurentBxl - Out of interest, why do you think that the bezel insert is from a second generation?
