Had a '64 Spitfire, always wanted a 4A or TR250, you own a TR?
Pictures?

Nice to come across a fellow Triumph driver, and I'd love to see pics of your Spitfire! I do have a TR4 (which happily inspired my name and provided the avatar pic)! It's a slowly moving project, but here she is after getting the interior back to its proper black (and getting the Spitfire seats out!). Apologies for the slight blurriness, all I had was a terrible phone camera when this was taken. I'll just post the one pic as not to distract from some seriously amazing watches:

Oooooh! Wires!
My Spitfire was 40 yrs. ago, doubt if I could get in and out of one now!

I do remember making out in it with my future bride, but had to have the top down ( the car top you perverts!).

Stunning collection ! Love the gold one with black dial, just classic. And the tropical dial one is impressive.

Not for Polerouter, a solid gold Polerouter is definitely much rarer than the steel version. For every nice solid gold Polerouter that I've come across, I would've come across more than a dozen in the steel version.

interesting, as I scroll through the threads, a good polerouter well all vintage watches seems to be about patience. perhaps some day Ill see one in the for sale section. id hate to resort to ebay even though fishing is fun

New addition from one of the auctions last month. Been wanting an early De Luxe with black dial for a while. Best combination dial with the crosshair and applied arrow markers! Click on the photos to see the dial closely!

The case condition is insane, completely unpolished with both hallmarks clearly visible.

The UG logo on the glass was a pain in the ass to capture because it's bang on in the middle of the glass.

Any personal engraving on the caseback is always a plus in my book!

Original and extremely rare large UG box with the Geneva map.

Hope you guys love it as much as I do!

Fabulous. Thought long and hard about bidding myself for this one but I think I ended up buying something else.

Love that box too. Had you seen one before? I certainly haven't.

Hi OF,

I have been fortunate enough to have handled some nice Polerouters during my time of collecting vintage watches. Now, with this latest addition below, I feel like I've completed my Polarouter and Polerouter journey,

I have been on the hunt for a nice steel Polarouter for ages, and most of the pieces that I've seen are gold plated or in a really bad condition (polished case/damaged dial). And just in these past 2 weeks alone, I missed out on 2 nice Polarouter, one is a double signed Polarouter from an eBay seller who cancelled the transaction after I paid for it, and another in this very forum (I blamed @Florent for posting the sale while I was away overseas ).

But patience is a virtue indeed, and when it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I received this Polarouter today. The dial on the watch is just happens to be my favourite kind Polerouter dial, a tropical one. Below is the Polarouter together with my tropical cal 215 Polerouter patent pending movement,

My first Polerouter, came from an OF member, and now belongs to another OF member, glad it stays in the family!

My SAS issued Polerouter, still resides safely in my safe. A thread about this watch below,

Some other Polerouters that I have handled in the past,

Some group shots,

Hope you enjoy the thread! Thanks heaps to @marturx for lettting go the Polarouter to me, and to OF because none of this can happen without this forum!

Best

Andre

What do you mean, you think you ended up buying something else?

I was trying to remember why I was daft enough not to bid on this one but I think I decided to spend my budget at the time on another watch.

Thanks. I assumed you were alluding to a late night alignment of gin and online auctions...

Thought I’d leave this tropical spider dial here as well 😀
