·Might be worth entrusting the job to a watchmaker... breaking the replacement on it's way in would be less than optimal! 👎
I couldn’t wait till my slow watchmaker came around to it (after all don’t we all have tons of places to be at during the pandemic?)..soI ended up replacing the whole unit using a damn watchmaker knife, which, of course, left some marks on the upper case. May be worth a buff now, but am glad the whole thing worked out. $550.. was it worth it? Considering I have box and papers, I think it’d take a disproportionately higher chunk at a time of possible sale.
