I'm in favor of a hump any time.

Ha - I won the bet that it would be you that would comment on the typo! Thanks for being predictable!

Did you bet yourself? Hey, it was a great typo with so many possibilities. How could you think there was a chance in hell that I wouldn't?

You mean this?

It's clearly not something I use, so yes I mean the sales page...😉
@Archer, clicking 'Latest' will not make that number go away -- you actually need to pick the 'Alerts' tab off the 'Latest' page to clear it.

Chaps, all this can be answered by simply following this simple step...

It's incredibly simple.

No need to add SOLD as the bump. I used to but now just change the thread title and allow it to get lost in the lower depths as its sold anyway. One thing to remember though is that (I think) watchrecon will pick up on the bump 'sold' maybe @dsio can confirm that?

That's all good except for the sellers who are obviously incapable of adding the prefix.

I would be happy if private sales was like dealers where they didn’t show on the latest screen. You had to actual look in the private sales forum.

Solves all of the above. 😗

Not much of a issue to peruse the FS thread once or twice a day.😎

He continues to post in the Private sale and he gets moved to the dealer forum. Not sure how long that will continue before someone on the staff puts their foot down.

Hey loser, I was told to post there. Oh, and I’ll pay more attention to the bumps. Thanks for the reminder.

You obviously put a lot of thought into that retort.

Well after reading this thread - I PERSONALLY won’t do the SOLD bump. I just sold a piece this morning (to an OF member, yay) and will just edit the title and leave it at that. I think I get what the anti-bumpers are talking about, at least with regards to OHPF and SOLD bumps, and you’ve convinced me to make it my new practice.
Happy Monday everyone!

So after this thread, when I sold my Speedmaster last week, I changed the title to OHPF. I thought I would try not using the "sold bump" post. Just leave the title change.

Since then I have had three messages asking to buy, so I am sorry gentlemen, I am going to add a post to say it is sold.

I think its a storm in a teacup. I always preferred to see a bump with sold on it. Focuses my attention on a watch that has actually sold.

I cannot believe that someone looking for a watch is going to not bother to scroll down.

I don't see any problem at all with Sold/OHPF posts, it tells it like it is, nothing more nothing less. With a Sold post it also gives me the opportunity to thank OF for allowing me to use the sales facility here.

The posts that annoy me are the repeated bumps with neither additional content nor price reductions, but that has been discussed numerous times before and we all know generally who those bumpers are.

When it was sold, why didn't you mark it sold?

I cannot believe that someone who reads "SOLD" in the description is going to email you to try and buy the watch.

Have you read some of the questions posted on the board? Not being able to read SOLD is the least of some member’s issues.
