I noticed the new site has a feature that can prevent a user from generally posting for a certain amount of time… i wonder how easy it would be to just make a timer kick in after every post in the private sales forum to prevent another post from the same user until the end of the current calendar day… encoding the rule into the posting workflow. just a thought. happy hunting, all!
That's a good point. I think that does happen with posting in existing private sales forum threads (so it avoids multiple bumps), but it must not apply to new posts.

question: why isn’t this just automated (preventing multiple posts within 24 hours) instead of people calling each other out, often impolitely? it seems that at least comments are blocked over a 24 hour period. A lot of people who were quite active on this forum 5-10 years ago tell me they don’t bother logging in at all anymore because of the negativity. feels like at least this one issue is an easy fix.

Weirdly, I’m not able to force a bump as I get a message, “you can post in 24 hours”

I'm sorry! I've never had more than one watch to sell at a time and missed this rule! Just trying to use my time wisely this Saturday and get some stuff listed.

Missed this:
  • Only one thread, bump, or post per day in the Private Watch Sales forum (24-hour limit).

This seems like a logical way to enforce the rule. There is at least one sub-forum in the classifieds, where half of the posts on the entire first page are from one person.

I don’t have anything to sell and I find their take over to be quite annoying. It seems they are transitioning away from eBay but they could at least create bulk listings for the sake of other members, which is allowed in the parts section.

Specially considering they shared that this photo is 1/3 the straps they are in possession of. They will take over the parts section in no time.

Yes I think the parts section should be subject to the same rules. I don’t think it’s quite in the spirit of the forum when @timesofplenty has basically taken over the parts for sale as their own private sales platform.

Those were posted before I saw this thread, they take time to show up because marketplace posts don't go live immediately, they must get moderator approval.

Well, no more need for us to signal or report multi-posting then. I am not looking forward sifting through endless strap advertisements but if thats how it is....
