I am really tired of reporting people for spamming the sales subfora with stuff they are putting up for sale - it's exceedingly annoying when it clogs up the "latest" feed. If you want to sell more items at a time, either post in the (non-private) Sales subforum or go on eBay. OF shouldn't be a marketplace, at least not primarily.
There is currently no rule against multiple posts in the accessories forum, so while its slightly annoying he did nothing wrong, we didn't do anything in that area thus far as accessories posts are typically minimal enough to not cause an issue with flooding though we do ask people to be considerate if they overpost in it.
Cool, I'll vent my annoyance some other way I have no statistics for this, but it seems to me that there has been a lot more activity in the sales fora recently (hell, I'm one of those who use it, too!) and also that there are several who post several items at the same time.
Pre-christmas its pretty common, post christmas too in Jan then it settles down again for several months.
Alright! I'll keep checking your latest activity. I love a good venting, especially from one of our members who are more seasoned in the art of sarcasm.
Exactly! BTW - there's a sweet Helson bronze in there FS right now. I've heard the seller is asking for a reasonable "rehoming" fee.
You're welcome to borrow my avatar "tag" if you like. Just return it in the same condition please, when you're done venting.
Could be a unique theme/venue for the OF Christmas GTG Judging from this picture we'll all need some @Mad Dog style protection.
I'm bumping this again now... PLEASE!!! Read the bloody rules - don't post two or three watches for sale in the Private Sales subforum the same day, it clogs up the Recent Posts feed. It's hugely annoying.
Good that I read this thread because I just wanted to sell some pieces from my collection and you are right if everybody will post more watches in one day it clogs up the Recent Posts..
Guilty as charged. And apologies for not reading the rules closely enough. Selling watches can be a bit of minefield as every forum has different rules.
Maybe it's time to start a thread shaming those who break the rules. The staff doesn't have the time to continually police the sales boards, nor do they have time react to every reported post. Posters who have amassed 200 posts should know the rules by the time they're ready to list. The posters with special permission to sell should lose the privilege immediately, if they don't follow the rules.
Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that some watch collectors and sellers can't seem to figure out how to tell if it's been 24 hours? Also, time zone has nothing to do with it. 24 hours is still 24 hours, no matter where the hell you are on the planet.
