Hi guys,
I have been looking for a fois for some months because I love it ,but I am trying to find the cheapest option I can get, because unfortunately I can’t afford a new one.
I found the following one at about 2500 euros (about 2800 usd), and I would please ask you to evaluate it, and tell me if it’s a good buy. There are not papers, not box. Just the watch. The seller doesn’t know what year it is, or service records but he reassures that is genuine.

Can you please advise? Do you think the price is OK? Any help, even small tips, or your opinion about buying another with a little more expenses will be highly appreciated... 😀

A good price for a FOIS. I'll let others who happen to have their glasses to hand confirm the authenticity. But a quick glance looks good to me.

Looks right but price without the full set isn’t that good imo, there’s full set going for £2.7k on the bay atm and the seller taking offers.
I’d be hesitant to buy without the full set at this price personally.

Edit to say just noticed my example doesn’t have the warranty cards which is nice to have but would be out of warranty by now anyway I believe.

I bought one on eBay for £1800 (2400 dollars) no box or papers, but perhaps that was lucky. I actually think they’re undervalued at the moment. I’d still try to get a bit off that price.

Hello my friend. Thank you very much for your help. Do you have a link of the bay?

Do you think I could try around 2400 dollars or he is going to be pissed of?

Looks genuine. I think the price is OK to be honest, but always worth trying for a bit more.

Negotiate!!! An honest seller will say no, or come back with a counter offer.

You are right... I will give it a try as soon as I think about my final offer ...

He’s probably expecting an offer like that, and he’ll most likely try and meet you in the middle at 2600. If this is an important watch for you I’d find that extra bit of money for a boxed one with papers. It will always hold its value better. It’s always better to be patient if you can.

Maybe it's just me, but no one has mentioned the deployant clasp in the pictures, even if the strap is worn, it's replaceable and the clasp is a $200-250 item alone. Hopefully it's included.
Personally, I really like a deployant strap, makes putting a watch on without risk of dropping it easier.

The price is in line with what I see regularly on eBay from reputable dealers for similar without box, papers etc. From the images it looks a clean example, so I would make an offer.

Perhaps it's just me, but it's not complete, no box or papers, doesn't have the right strap, the strap has seen better days, there's some lug damage due to poor strap changing and how long has the caseback been off the watch?

It all adds up to a flat no from me.

Looks like caseback was removed for photos to confirm authenticity.

Entirely plausible that the original owner replaced the strap on purchase fron Omega because he wanted a deployant. Ive seen this frequently at boutiques, where they agree to fit a different strap due to buyer preference.

Box and papers going missing, and heavier wear is not unusual for non-WIS buyers or people who buy a watch to wear, or are not concerned with used value. As long as the price reflects that, and the new buyer understands what they're getting and are comfortable with it, I don't see the problem. Acknowledge that's not for you.
