·Im new to the forum and I’m thinking about buying my first vintage Omega but am new to vintage watches and don’t want to end up with the dreaded Frankenwatch of an outright fake. In researching the watch I’m interested in it appears to be a Seamaster Cosmic from the 60’s. The seller is claiming that it was bought at an estate sale and everything is 100% original. The dial is different than what is shown on the Omega website but I see others online with the same reference and this dial. Is this a variant? Or maybe a redial? The original band with these from the best I can find would be leather. The pictures the seller provided are of a leather band and there are Omega markings but one side says waterproof. Waterproof leather in the sixties doesn’t sound right. Please let me know if you think this is authentic and original. Also any tips on what to look for would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
