@JimlnOz keeps telling me i'm hopeless & advised me to Go Back to school to brush up on my World History since my standards are not up to "His" mark yet 74e9ab0b28f1372ef74f49779acbef34.jpg
I just want you to appreciate the Omega trench watches from a long lost forgotten era f3ddbd0616ec70cac840974857a48f29.jpg

The owner probably bought the watch from a jewellary store just like this 70895d3c7084a33569c8b06e94931eab.jpg d985f0d6d6216b4e8e9e331268476f90.jpg

Darling @meganfox17,
like you I have a weakness for women's fashion of the roaring twenties and the bejeweled watch you're showing is beautiful, but those ladies watches like in the OP are definitely not trench watches!
"Trench" watches are military watches from WWI, indeed worn in the trenches- circular, with big fat lumed numerals and white dials, and most often cathedral hands. The fact they're "silver" is not enough to make a watch a "trench" watch.
Here's a typical one:

Cheerio, keep going,
All the best,
S

Uh Oh, I missed this one.

Thanks for pushing it up Sylvie. As you have indicated, the watches referred to by Megan are not trench watches. I would tend to call that style a "cocktail watch".

Now, as penance Ms Fox, can you tell us why they are called cocktail watches?

Dear @JimlnOz
Ok Old Timer[emoji41] I'll tell you why they are called Cocktail watches
The Cocktail watches be it diamonds or other precious metals epitomized the Art Deco period of an era known as the Roaring Twenties full of tales of gangsterism, jazz music & alcohol prohibition 61cf5199e08be4b779da42477be12a92.jpg
Back then , Jim's daring flapper girlfriends use to smoke & drink in speakeasies( illegal cocktail nightclubs selling alcohol) wearing diamond cocktail watches and long pearl necklaces. Reminiscing about his nostalgic past , Jim once told me he had bought them gifts of compact powder & cigarettes cases

Just google "trench watch" and look at the images, not a gem stone in sight.
