Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help me identify what model this old omega is? It was my great grandfathers and after doing some research I'm thinking its from the 1940s? Thanks in advance.
Please post more and better photos. High resolution. Good lighting. In focus. Cropped to size. From all angles including the inside. Then we can help you. I don't want to jump to any conclusions based on bad photos where scratches in the crystal may be distorting the dial.
The dial has been repainted and is hard to research. We need to see the movement and inside of the caseback to verify it is an Omega and to start to trace.
Looks like a newer case style than that.... can't tell much until we see inside. May we see the inscription on the back?
That's what I was thinking but was thrown off by "Omega" being written above "Chronometer" on this one but the other way around on the 2367s I saw online. I guess that makes sense if it was repainted. Sorry I'm pretty new to watches.v
Omega mark and “OMEGA” have same font, “chronometer” is a little different. I think someone who make this redial just have template for “omega” with omega mark and then add “chronometer”.
If you're interested in these watches there's a book devoted to them, here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-chronometer-book-omega-forums-limited-edition.90782/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/a-short-review-erichs-mac_omega-book-omega-30mm-chronometers.94927/
Looks pretty obviously like a fake Omega to me. Most obviously fake from the lack of photos of the 50 cent quartz movement? I am not sure why anyone would think some Ukrainian might re-dial a fake watch? TO THE OWNER: dont try to take that wrongly-sized back off because you might not get it to stay on again!
IMO the Roman numerals Would generally be associated with the DeVille range using a 30T2 RG Chronometer Movement .However the dial finish , case etc aren’t although the hands are typical 1945 . Just my thoughts
Have photos of my grandpa wearing it in the 1950s and it was his dad's before that. Im thinking it was repainted etc... poorly instead of being fake.
