Please help me identify this ebay watch

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy my first watch and have been trying to learn as much as I can, but there’s definitely a lot to take in! I came across this watch on eBay and wanted to get some opinions from the forum before moving forward with the purchase.

Would anyone be willing to take a look at the listing and let me know if anything stands out as questionable or if there are any concerns with its authenticity? I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone familiar with this particular model or reference.

I’m still learning, so I’d really appreciate any insight or advice you’re willing to share. Thanks in advance!

First, that timegrapher result is AWFUL. That is a very sick/dirty movement. It'll need an immediate service, which costs $300-800 (depending).

Third: Note it isn't gold, it is a plated/filled/capped/etc case.

Third, this is a SMALL watch. At 27mm, it is considered on the smaller side of a ladies watch these days. So make sure you understand that.

That said, the 684 is a lovely movement, I've cleaned a few up on my bench. Higher beat (21,600) and 24 jewels, but not chronometer rated, but should still be able to service quite nicely.

20 micron electroplate, but it doesn't seem to have worn through too badly so one good point.
You're right about the movement, badly in need of a service.

Thanks, for some reason all the plate/fill/etc coatings just CAN'T get into my thick brain 😁
