So I received my watch, bought one less than a year old from Watchfinder so as to not take the depreciation hit. Watch on the screen and in the description is mint, but when I received it, it has clear scratches on the sapphire dome. Now I need to return and insure at my own expense and inconvenience. A very poor service from Watchfinder a) the goods should be described as they are and b) a customer should suffer no expense in returning faulty goods. Very unhappy and will never use Watchfinder again.

The brushed steel on the side of the case looks different to the links on the bracelet. Is thet the same on everyone’s?

It matches on mine.

Sounds like bad customer service- I will stay away from Watchfinder. Also sorry to be the one to say, that price is only marginally less than the current recommended Omega price for a new PO 39.5, so Watchfinder may have sold you a bill of goods in more ways than one. Once you get refunded, I bet you can find a bigger discount on a new, unworn version from an AD somewhere. I hope it all works out. 👍

Thanks mate - no the price was £3600, that is just showing the rrp, so it was a grand off!

They are now offering me £12 off the price of sending it back BTW.

That sucks so much man - nothing worse than when you are really looking forward to something and it arrives damaged/not as described. Not sure what UK consumer laws are like but here in Australia, if the item is not as described and/or fit for purpose then the buyer has the right to return for a refund and the seller needs to bear the cost of return in most cases where it is significant.

I'm sure it will all work out for you, just a speed hump unfortunately.

Thanks mate, yes getting full refund, but a load a hassle that wouldn't have happened had they described the watch accurately.

Go with the diameter you feel most comfortable in. I have a 7.5 in wrist and 43.5 looks more proportionate to my wrist size. However I own other brands at 47mm case size and love it. Good luck and let us know

Agreed. Scratches on a sapphire crystal would likely be a deal-breaker for anyone buying a relatively common and non-vintage watch. Perhaps they were hoping you wouldn't notice? ::facepalm1::

Mmmm, that's certainly possible. I assume the OP took images of the scratches and emailed them to the seller? If so, would definitely be interested to see them here. I am assuming it was the AR coating that was scratched and not the underlying crystal? Irrespective, would be grounds for a return if very noticeable.

My 7.5 wrist fits the 43.5 just fine. Love the new 8900 coaxial. Display caseback, beautiful ornate movement, date function and Chronometer, and WR to 2000 feet! It's the total dive watch package.

Kringkily is a seller here on the forum that should be able to get you a brand new PO at a good price. Send him a private message to enquire.

Thanks Sean, I’ll wait until I see how the refund goes but I’m very nervous about buying used online again.

Don’t pay full MSRP! Kringkily and many other reputable sellers in the forums can get you a new or mint piece for a lot less.

Chitownwatches.com is highly recommended and they have an exceptional reputation. I have purchased from them and they are one of the few vendors I will deal with.
