If you have been hanging around OF for a while, you might feel like you know us - but we don't know you.

A short introduction wouldn't go amiss.

As @TexOmega says, we like pics, both for convenience and posterity.

As for the two watches you link to, @hoipolloi is quite right - both dials are poor.
The first has a severe case of the pox and staining
The case is very soft with no facets left on the lugs

The second has a very grubby dial
The case isn't as soft as the first but still very soft and is damaged

Neither are worthy the $1500+ asking prices

Pics for the record

Thanks for the comments.

Looks like there are several of them on Chrono24, but it's hard for me to make out which ones are worth buying.

If you guys have any recommendations for watches you see on forums / reddit / chrono24 please LMK, thanks.

There is always a wide range of condition, especially for these popular models.

If you want a good price and best condition possible, the best is to read about these as much as possible, follow posts like this one, where experienced members tell you why it isn’t a good buy and what to watch for. You watch the main platforms and you pull the trigger when you see one that ticks the boxes. You can of course ask here first, it always helps.

If you want condition, and can pay a premium, you could also go down the route of a dealer. But do your research nonetheless. Never too careful these days!

Happy hunting.

Indeed … It’s all about the dials for me and as sharp a case as possible. Neither are acceptable ….
