It’s totally legit. I have the exact same watch same movement and confirmation that they were authentic. Given to officers or ground staff. Mine is unpolished though. Great everyday watch.

Provenance?

I'm sorry but if I see a ton of similar Watches coming from the same source with an unusual feature, I get a bit suspicious.😗

I think maybe he had one, it sold at a premium, and then he produced several more. Just a thought and I'd be very happy to be wrong.

What’s next, a PAF Moonphase?
Useful to keep track of Ramadan.

I am not knowledgable enough on PAF watches to have a worthwhile opinion on veracity...but who is? All I was saying is that a few very knowledgable military watch collectors have bought military watches from this seller....

Who has an opinion of "veracity"? I would say an Omega extract pretty much settles it. It's just a little too easy to engrave a caseback. If the seller is such a prolific dealer in military watches, then why not get an extract which would increase the final sale price?

Interesting, did you get an extract from the archive?

I served in military aviation units for over thirty years and met many people like me (interested in watches) from other countries.

I never heard of ground crews being issued watches unless they had a very specific role, and therefore they would have had a specific style of watch, and when they left that role they usually had to hand the watch back to stores. Most aircrew were issued watches to suit their role and they were not "dress" watches and similarly, they had to be handed back at the end of service.

Unless they got "lost" of course. 😉

So, once again. Do you have any evidence of your claim?

A very run of the mill 1970s Omega made moderately more interesting with some very run of the mill supposedly military markings. No traceable issue serial on some though I note. I think you could safely say the marks were made in Pakistan, whether the watch ever went near an airbase is perhaps debatable.

Ask yourself would you buy this without the marks? Even if it’s legit, does it become desirable because the guy who made the pilots’ lunch in one of the worlds least accomplished air forces wore it? Not to me.

Hey, that gives them kind of an 'underdog' status, and makes you root for their success 😁

I don't know anything about the seller but there's a difference between this one and the Longines watches posted. Those are legit and they're easily traceable. With this one, so far, we'd need more info from the archives or someone that has some info/proof.

I'm sorry but this statement shows a lack of understanding about the quality of the military grade Sandwiches supplied to the Pilots. I would be proud to wear the timing instruments used to create military haute cuisine. The arrow was used to symbolise the reaction of the pilots seeing the food arriving.👍

Actually I was a little too dismissive in my earlier hatchet job. The PAF have in fact performed with some distinction and are currently a modern well equipped outfit. In the mid 1970s when this watch was current, they flew Mig 21s, F-86s, F-104s and B-57 Canberra bombers (an interesting combination) and even though their country routinely lost wars to India, 4 so far, they did win the odd sky skirmish so were by no means always outclassed.

It still isn't a watch I would get excited over though. I get why people like mil stuff but I work on the basis that I would want to wear it even without the mil link.

Out of interest, what in your opinion makes the Longines watches "legit"? Delivered to Baume in the UK. Always willing to learn as it seems little is known about PAF watches.
