Overpolished Garage Sale Find - Seamaster Big Square

Been awhile since I have found an Omega at a garage sale. This was $100 but the unfortunate part is that it is wayy overpolished. What would you guys do with it? Mine might even be a redial.

Unless you really like it, I would probably try to sell it and hope to get back the $100... I don't think it's worth to put more money into.

In addition to watches I collect cars. Some in my collection are in "pristine" original condition, others far less so. I appreciate each for different reasons -- pristine design masterpiece is a joy to simply "behold", a model from my youth complete with the ravages of time is a joy to take out on the backroads on a sunny and simply drive. If you "like" the watch you purchased and your $100 investment isn't "breaking the bank" I wouldn't think twice about it, I would enjoy it. If it's lack of "originality" is going to bother you, move it along.

They polished all the gold plating off, it must have been quite ratty to warrant doing that. Or is it a swapped in case back?
