For me it’s the zenith. Every time I buy a speedy it gets sold pretty quick. I’m on my fourth now and once again it for sale. I am going to get the 38mm zenith ep tri color on bracelet.

I love Omega but in this case (choosing between the mention models) I'll go with the Zenith.

For me its Speedy pro hand wind Hesalite. Its classic, clean easy to read, almost every watch lay out had copied it and it looks great on just about any strap.

Hey Guys

After selling my PO i'm looking for a replacement.
Need something versatile that can be worn at all times and preferably a black and white face so it can be worn with anything. The orange PO was a bit restrictive

So i started with the following options
Speedmaster
Tudor Pelagos
Tudor Black Bay
Panerai 380

After eliminating the last three i decided i would go for the speedy but then i saw the zenith chronomaster.
and i'm torn between the two.
Price is about the same although i guess i can find a speedy for less.

Thoughts? bear in mind this will be my only "good" watch for a good while

You can't go wrong either way. However, my preference is the Speedmaster because it is more versatile. It looks great on anything leather, Nato, and of course on the OEM bracelet. It dresses up nicely, and for a casual look you can't beat how the Speedy looks on distressed leather. It also has the best history of any watch as far as I am concerned. To be totally fair, while the purists love the hesalite crystal, it is very scratch prone and polishing it from time to time is necessary although not always 100% successful. There is a sapphire option for the Speedy and it has the added bonus of coming with a display back. Anyway you go, hesalite or sapphire, the Speedy is by far the best choice as far as I am concerned.

The speedy does have amazing history however, let’s not forget the history of the zenith el primero. Arguably the first automatic chronograph in history.

Zenith, if you want a “dressier” watch.
But go with the Speedmaster which checks every box on the paper.

Obviously the Zenith uses a terrific movement but the styling has never done anything for me. On the other hand the Speedmaster has me falling in love.

I have owned both and 2 completely different animals. Both are superb pieces so hard to go wrong.

Decided to go for the speedy. Same price for a 2016 model vs a zenith 2000 model. I prefer the new one. Hopefully i will have both someday.
