how much did that cost? and how did you cut the foam so evenly?
I bought one and it never gets used. They are convenient especially for watches without the quick set date feature, but the main downfall is that a automatic watch that is always wound wears out faster that one that is wound only when worn. Knowing what I know now, I would never have bought one. On a positive note, I am giving my dad a watch without a quick set date for X-mas and I will give him the winder case along with it.
Really interesting to know... I'm planning to grow my watches over time and was researching into a multi-watch winder. So consensus is for a quality/quirky box rather than a winder = more pennies to save towards the next watch 😎
It looks like this hexagon shaped box has been well thought out... a cool watchroll as well... Kevlar
Any idea who makes this?
I remember Wei Koh did a video unveiling this watch roll not too long ago. I believe you can go to the revolution watch shop and get it there.
I want to shamelessly show off the old machinist tool boxes that I amateurishly fix up and use for watch/parts/tools storage. I try to grab them when I'm at the swap meet when they're cheap and tired. The before photos of these things really show the transformations.
Just finished this one this week - 1920's Gerstner. Broke it down and built it back up. New Tolex leatherette, nickel plated all the hardware, wool felt for the drawers:

Then this is the second most recent - Late 1910's Union box. Just cleaned and new felt. Quarter sawn oak is always so beautiful -
And finally this unknown brand dental chest. Modified slightly (removed the tool trays) new leatherette, nickel plated hardware, new felt. Sold this to a fellow in Singapore right after I finished. I have another that I'm going to do the same to -

So I'm looking for a good recommendation on a watch storage box. I have a few winders, and I would like to have this one strictly for storage. Could anyone make any recommendations on a storage box. I'm thinking about going with an aluminum glass topper, but I can't find one built to the standards I like.
Those are great looking boxes!
Call me paranoid, but I keep my watches in a hidden & immoveable safe at home when not on the wrist. A good friend had several valuable watches stolen during a break in - the ones in his display case. Those in his sock drawer - equally valuable - went untouched.
Hmmm, maybe I'll get one after all, and fill it with cheap Swatches as a decoy.![]()
Sometime an old wooden cigars box does the job just fine for few watches...and it adds flavor too 😀
I have a couple of those and they work just fine
