I was just gonna say the same. Does Omega track in any form for which serials they’ve provided extracts? If not I’d suggest you install the orange Chrono hand and ask again… 😁

·I had thought the same thing. Moreover, the elderly watchmaker who sold it to me told me that he remembered the owner who didn't like that absurd color for a classic watch. He tells me that that watch made him constantly revise and he immediately removed the bracelet because he ate the cuffs of his watch. In short, this is to say that he could have been a customer who was not happy with the orange hand. ahahahahhah

·Every Speedmaster is a potential Ultraman. Just buy the correct lengths orange hand from Vietnam for $200 and be happy. You have to find the source in Vietnam yourself. Ask the factory. Multiple times. Instal all possible hands, until the factory gives in and says, yes, it's a very, very rare Ultraman. Then give it to a Swiss auction house and make millions. And then everyone can do the same.....

If they then issued one with a notation for the orange hand, then I think it would confirm without doubt that these extracts are extremely dubious...

That hour and min hands would be my first go to. Maybe look for those too while at it?

It’s a very dodgy situation but why should you miss out. Likewise why should anyone be daft enough to pay a massive premiun for an Ultraman when there are in theory 4k others and some are fake.
Snoopys run to thousands of copies and justify megabucks in the current market it serms. Maybe the UM is worth it too despite there being maybe 60-80x as many out there as some originally thought.
The extract system can still be gamed like this despite assurances that the dubious practices seen 10-20 years ago have been eradicated. Got a 26.07m Speedy? Congrats you have a potential Ultraman.

You are not wrong. Everything was born because the hands installed suck and are not even original. In looking for a normal white vintage set (moreover very expensive), putting the year, reference and serial number, I found more articles on the ultraman than on the standard model. Believe me I didn't know about the Ultraman before. Now I am just careful in knowing what I have in my hands. I think everyone would ask themselves a few questions. If you see the date of the extract it is today. Allow me to have a moment of desire to understand. ahahahhaha.

To me it sounds like all other parts are thought to be legit Ultraman? But main hour and minute hand are not correct so the story of only the orange hand being replaced does not make sense.

I'm starting to collect speedmasters now. The purchase of this watch was a surprise and an opportunity. In any case I am happy and I will not sell it because it is a model that I was looking for and that I want. By movement and year. Now I'll look for one from 1974. You can source an omega orange hand from another model if that is the look you are wanting, it would be a slightly different size and a different shade of orange but probably not noticeable to the naked eye while on the watch.

·Are the hour and minute hands not also wrong? Lume fill is shorter on both hands. I'm a newbie though so perhaps nothing.
