Yes definitely.
As this league is new to me, I guess the following is applicable in this league: If any doubt on 100% originality then the value goes to zero.
If a 20k rolex, has a service part (e.g. bezel, caseback) then the value is only lightly affected

<<Imagine we are in the pub - I'm not taking a swing at you, I am shouting "Challenge! while buying you a drink>>

Nonsense! The OP watch is still worth a considerable sum as it is, perhaps several 861 Speedmasters. The value is not zero.

My Rolex friends would question my sanity if I purchased of a Rolex with the wrong case back with only a "lightly affected" price reduction

I'm really curious on these caseback. This is the 3rd odd 2915-1 caseback I have seen. When I shared my 2998 here a year ago that I got from my Mom. It has a similar caseback design. And yes its a 2998 with the odd 2915-1 caseback. I have not seen these caseback mentioned in the moonwatch only book.

I'm attaching pictures from my old post for reference.

Well that's interesting. I mean that looks the same as the one on the OP's watch for sure.
