Hello everybody 😀

I would like your opinion on this 1969 speed pro if it's match with the speed from this era in particular the insert.

The endlink is stamp with 575, but the clasp has 1181/215 ref on it 😕, the omega logo on the crow become smooth due to wearing.

The movement has 28XXXX serial, step dial with wide "T swiss Made T", the previous owner change the hand with luminova but I was able to replace them with tritium.

Thank you ! 👍

Rough watch, should have a DON bezel but doesn't, should have a 1039 bracelet but doesn't, dial is unattractive, hands look replacement, there's just not a lot of watch there to like or find desirable and to me it's a pretty shagged out piece.

I wouldn’t be a buyer but under $3k would probably be where it’s at

That is a very interesting article Hansaboy, one of many articles I wish I read before I bought my Speedy 😁

Pepperoni - welcome to the forum. Sure, the watch looks rough but it is still a Speedmaster😀 Do you have pictures of the movement?
A Speedy is always a Speedy!

Think about it this way. You buy it now for whatever. If you ghost us and never come back you will probably be happy in your ignorance. But you won’t stay away.

You will come back and read

And read more, and more , and more.

And then you will see your watch they way these guys do.
Bezel wrong.
Hands not aged like the dial, service or whatever.
Lume is not so sexy.
Crown is worn.

And you won’t be able to unsee those things.
Ever.
Not even after winning big.

Welcome and enjoy the rabbit hole of wonders which is the Omega Forum. Vintage Speedmasters are a thing of beauty, even though which have lost some of their shine over the years. It's the character of the watch which makes it unique even if it's not perfect.

Curious if you're happy with the purchase, Pepperoni?!

I've learned so much about my first Speedmaster that I didn't know when purchasing, but love the flaws regardless. And as mentioned above, it's the gateway to this fantastic world of vintage Speedmasters 😍
