I can't stand the word replica. It's fake. Or counterfeit.

To me "replica" is something like a sports jersey that is officially licensed but not the same thing used on the field.

Edit - I would consider the Moon Swatch a "replica" of a Speedmaster. Officially sanctioned, but not the real deal.

A super clone is a fake. Anyone saying otherwise is trying to normalize them into acceptance.

Yeah to be clear I don't support counterfeit watches, I'm just talking about their shared terminology, of which there is quite a bit. The MoonSwatch isn't a replica because it isn't trying to pass as the real thing, it's more of an officially sanctioned loose homage.

Regardless, at the end of the day it's not the same as having the real thing. 😁

No worries. Your statement that they are all of terrible quality meshes perfectly with your refusal to take a few moments looking at a good quality example.
The only time I have said “terrible quality” in this thread is in this very reply, so I appreciate you putting words in my mouth. The statement I made, that you so clearly confused, is “I have never seen a perfect replica/fake of any watch.”
I have never seen a perfect replica of any watch.
Like I said, I have not seen a perfect fake/replica of any watch.
I did acknowledge that some look okay on the outside
Some might look good on the exterior
So, what you are choosing to see doesn’t really “mesh” with what actually happened.

I appreciate your high level of integrity on this topic.
If you need that video to help you learn, by all means, enjoy it. I don’t need to watch it. I have done a number of deep dives into the replica watch forum. I’m familiar with the factories and their “best” offerings. I have seen their comparison pictures showing how they are “improving” and what can change. I’m familiar with the shady af process to purchase these.

You’re new to the forum, but if you had taken any time to look through my post history, you’ll have discovered that I regularly help new and older member identify fakes. I look forward to more of your contributions.

The watch is fake... I can see a specific jewel out of place that the fakes always have. 100%. The box, obviously, is fake too.
Thank you. Can you tell me which jewel you are refering to?

I can’t weigh in on if the OP watch is fake or not, I don’t know the reference. But I do believe we all have a real sixth sense that’s akin to our appendix- a vestige of a when we weren’t at the top of the food chain.

It tells us when there is a predator in the area- that feeling you get when you think you are being watched, not to take the short cut through an alley or when you are being scammed.

Sadly most of our species has learned to ignore this sense (including myself not walking away from my ex-wife when we first started dating), but it still tries to let us know when to turn and run. The screws in the box gave the OP pause for thought- but that was in combination with a lack of paperwork…and something else he clearly couldn’t put his finger on…and that was enough to ask here.

Good on you OP for knowing when something didn’t feel right- it’s always worth asking….am I gonna get screwed here?
