Hi all, I've searched if I should get my omega box repaired and if it would devalue it? But could only find the best place to take it to get looked at would be a book restorer. I have a 311.33.42.50.01.001 50th anniversary box and the internal "leather" (vinyl) is falling apart and leaving bits of black everywhere.
my question is, will it devalue if it get it repaired/ internals made with real leather?
Second question, has anyone gone to the trouble or repairing an omega box?
I was going to buy a generic speedmaster case to keep it but would prefer to use the original box. (edit to attach pictures)

Some pics would assist.

I haven’t heard of anyone repairing a box before. I think it would devalue the box/watch if you got it repaired as originality is everything.

Perhaps it would be cheaper to buy one on eBay or a generic red Omega box to keep the watch. Plenty of aftermarket options out there too.

It's one of the rare boxes, can't find anyone selling one without the watch :-( I was thinking of getting one of the smaller wooden ones ( I have a seamaster also and the red box has also fallen apart) It would be great if omega could build the boxes as well as their watches.
