There are several sellers advertising fake boxes online as real.
I made a pic comparing side by the the real Omega watch box vs the counterfeit.
The fake ones are decently made and can pass as real if you never seen the real ones but since the real ones sell for about the same price as the fakes there is really no advantage in buying the fake ones.

 

I've never handled the fake boxes before, but from what I can tell from hunting down replica sellers on eBay, it looks like the flap that opens up to reveal the side compartments actually isn't a flap, but lifts up the entire section similar to the DSotM box

 

Should have a little microfiber cloth in there too.

 

It's a travel pouch. There is no microfiber cloth.

 

the fake ones come w the travel cloth bag as well and it is almost identical to the real one. I just decided to point out the more obvious differences.

Do you have any experience with the older - red leather boxes?

 

All of the red leather boxes selling on eBay from China, Taiwan, HK and Vietnam are fake, specially if they come complete w certificates and paper bags.
