I know that there are essentially perfect replica fakes for submariners and Daytona's.
But if they're making Aqua Terra world timers this good, the expensive watch gig is just finished.
The fake Rolex watches at about $1,000 (I know there's a term for them but I can't remember it)
The fake Rolex watches at about $1,000 (I know there's a term for them but I can't remember it) you'll have to examine the movement to tell.
Or have a genuine one next to it to compare slightly different shades of dial color.
But my point was that they can do great fakes of the most popular watches in the world. And this watch isn't in that category.
Super clones is maybe the term you're looking for. Or just broadly they're called replicas, fake generally is reserved for the street side quartz abominations in that scene. Though, yes, obviously they're all fake.
There is also frankens where it's part replica part real, like putting a real dial in a fake watch to try to resolve some of the flaws and make it harder to spot. All reps have tells, some more than others, but they can be dangerously convincing, especially hype Rolexes. You often don't need to examine the movement but you need to research that model's flaws, nobody can tell on wrist with the really good ones.
But as Scarecrow Boat says, they all fall apart at the movement. All reps fail and good luck getting them serviced with a fake movement. I imagine the exterior facade would fall apart under a loupe as well.
But for $1,000 are you getting it serviced?
That's the term.

Good luck with that. No watch maker that respects themselves, their work, or this hobby will ever accept a fake.
No matter what term you try to describe them as, it’s fake. Replica = Fake. Clone, Super Clone, and 1:1 = Fake.
If you want to see a little behind the scenes of a fake, look at this post I made a little while back:

Scarecrow Boat ·VS Factory make fakes of just about every brand including Omega, however they put extra emphasis on Rolex, as those are their main sellers (they have an entire line of “solid gold” Rolex President that is just “gold” plated stainless steel with “extra weight” added in places to resemble the correct feel 🤦 ). They have been raided & closed down a number of times, but always reopen in a small closet somewhere else. Here is a recent photo inside their current operation.
They are supposed to be one of the best, but honestly, their products are quite sh!t. Here are...
Second, replicas are sometimes "upgraded" with real parts. Someone posted this on another forum recently...first time I've seen anything like this. Buyer beware...
did you look at the video I posted?
I have seen several projects like this on the fake forum. It’s pretty scary and sad seeing what some people are doing to achieve as close to “Gen” as possible without buying “Gen”. This example is a whole other level as the OP stated the owner spent more building it than they would have if they just bought the real thing.
No, I don’t need to watch another YouTuber talk about and comparing the best fake Rolex.
