Hello everybody, I recently purchased a "new" Omega Speedmaster from 2018 (311.30.42.30.01.005) and noticed once I recieved the watch, that the black stap changing tool was missing. It is the only thing that is missing and I would like to get a hold of one, in order to have a full set. I do have the plastic tube, where it is supposed to be placed in. Does any of you know where to get one and is the price really nearly 150 Euros? Looking forward to your response
If it's new the warranty should cover it. If you want completion, try this or ebay. If you want a bracelet tool to actually use, buy a Bergeon 6767f from Amazon for a lot less than €150.
This is the part number: 5130131 | SPRINGBAR TOOL If you can;t get satisfaction from the seller, you can always try an Omega Boutique or AD - this tool is around $15 US...
Personally, I'd just buy a decent quality one for a fiver off eBay. I don't think a lack of an Omega-branded strap tool detracts measurably from the value of the whole.
If it's new and you bought it from an official Omega outlet I'd go back through them and have it replaced at their expense since you didn't get it with the package. If you bought it grey market I think you are SOL, you'll have to buy one yourself. It is a small ding on the whole package value but nothing to go crazy about.
If OP bought this new with the understanding that it came with a strap tool, then he should go about getting his moneys worth. Otherwise, I doubt the market wants to pay me any significant amount less because there isn't a $5 tool in the box that says Omega on it. A quick search on eBay shows this particular branded tool goes for around £30.
Hi guys, Thnaks for all the feedback, much appreciated. I udnerstand that the tool itself might not have such a high value, but for me it means a lot, that the set is complete. The watch is from 2018 and bought second hand, so no authorised dealer to help. I will definetely use 5 minutes more on Ebay and fidn a decent one for a lot less then 150 euros. Once again, thank you very much!
Months ago I seen 2 in one auction sell for 45 bucks shipped free. No tubes or rubber tips but I'm not sure if you need those. Either way I dont think genuine is that expensive. On a side note if you were willing to spend over a hundred then can't you.... (and correct me if I'm wrong) just go and buy a brand new nato strap from omega and not only would you get a new strap but also a tool and a travel case?..... might be worth the extra you'd spend and come out with a new strap.
