I was posting some infos about the LCD Speedmasters some time ago, including this rare watch made for NASA Shuttle pilots back in 1979. The information shared in that thread plus further research and conversations with Omega Museum and the Heritage team led to this website: www.omegalcdspeedmaster.com where I shared the current state of knowledge about the cal. 1620 and 1621 digital Speedmasters.

For sale comes one of the unnumbered "Alaska IV" examples in an exceptional conservation condition.

The dial, the bezel and the LCD screen are absolutely flawless. Please excuse some dust particles on the photographs.

The case is close to perfect, some very superficial marks on the polished parts which could be easily polished out but I wouldn't touch that.

Wide pushers, as expected with the calibre 1621.

The caseback is also in a great shape.

Finally what's under the hood? The famous calibre 1621 produced in a very little batch as described on the dedicated website. Both batteries are new, have been replaced a week before listing the watch for sale.

Obvously, the calibre 1621 has "Beta Light" tritium bars under the LCD screen, here's how it looks like :

Finally, the watch comes on a leather strap from www.bandrbands.com and a signed stainless steel buckle.

To recap, what makes that watch different to the regular production model ST 186.0004 Speedmaster :

    - unique dial, lighter than the regular production model, no ‘light’ word on it
    - unique caseback engraved 1621 (calibre 1621, prototype only) inside
    - the case is thicker to host the thicker cal 1621 (because of the beta light)
    - the pushers are wider than the standard production model

What you see is what you get.

    Terms and conditions :

I am a private collector and will set the post OHPF after getting the first PM saying "I will buy this watch at your price".

8900 CHF / 9600 USD / 8500 EUR / 7500 GBP wired directly to my bank account for the watch head on leather as pictured.

I will include fully insured shipping to wherever Fedex can deliver.

The watch and I are in Switzerland. If you happen to be in Switzerland, face to face always welcome : I value meeting people. I happen to visit other places too, let us talk.

Returns are accepted only if grossly misrepresented. You will get what you see in these pictures which are of a decent quality, unedited and high resolution, so I don't believe there is any chance of misrepresentation. Feel free to ask for special details or angles you want to see better, prior buying.

Will include a copy of the original invoice from Omega CH to Omega USA in NYC, for the 12 watches originally made for NASA in 1979, with a mention "for NASA Shuttle Pilots". A great add-on for this very special watch.

Some interesting discussions but no fixed deal yet. Would also consider a trade for something nice (up or down). :)
