Not exactly, it would be like having a Skoda at price bracket of Audi. 😝
13,000CHF is an insane price. Wow.

Kudos for making an accurate remake...but man, the price...ouch.

Vintage Omega are already hard enough to sell, now this modern with a crazy price?

Not sure how it will shake out, as prices have come down significantly on so many Omega references.

I sure as hell hope Omega doesn't try to pull a Rolex and offer these at 12k, but keep them in the safe only for VIPs so these go for 20k
Not sure if it will be that exactly but, Be careful Rolex..... The king is dead... Long live the king!...... Or, The king is ill... Send ya suit to the cleaners Omega you may need it soon, keep up the good work 😉

Seems like most of you guys was expecting a watch like this at 6 or 8k.
That's funny!!!

Omega makes how many watches yearly? like a million? They are going to make 2000 of this per year and they are right to get it priced at 13k, especially because this is an high end Chronograph with an incredible movement.

They are going to sell this like popcorn.

At half the list price or around 7500 Usd, it would be for me a no brainer. At 15k out the door, there will likely be plenty of takers but not me thx ...

No deposit required in the UK, OB has emailed me asking if I’d like to be added to their waiting list. Not sure.

Seems like the ST#1 and 2 price point has gone, with the new movements coming in, might look for a #1 to go with my #2 and then go vintage.

Speedy Tuesdays went crazy when they were released, yes 2012 is a limited number but I think this watch has far more kudos and heritage, for the first year at least there will only be 2000 so it screams that it will sell well above RRP..

BIG question then - This or an original 105.003-64 as they are in the same price area?? and will it make the original more desirable??
This for me. I am probably in the minority because I like the look of some vintage watches but in a modern, updated new watch.

I think the original will be more desirable only to those who are lovers of true vintage watches.

Regardless, both are over my arbitrary price limit of $10k. :sigh:

Lovely watch and congratulations on owning such a great watch.

My issue is that I don't want a 53 year old watch, I looked at getting a vintage watch, early 60's to be my birth year watch, but after doing some research I decided that the vintage watch scene wasn't for me. I had to admit that I liked the idea of being the first to own, the first to wear any watch that I bought, I wanted to be the one to get the scratches and dings on the watch and not inherit them from someone else. So any watch I buy will be new, therefore the launch of the new SS 321 Speedmaster appeals a lot to me.

I am going to join the queue, I will have to wait a while to get to the front of the queue but that's fine. The new 321 looks good in my eyes, how does it compare to the original, I don't know and to be honest its not something that I am going to worry about, the watch appeals to me and that it what is important.

Enjoy your vintage Speedmaster I hope that you will be together for many years to come.
I was in your position 53 years ago, hope you get what you want as I said it looks great but the price would put me off. Mine cost my parents £65 new which seemed a lot at the time, no idea what that would be now!

Well based on the Office for National Statistics your £65 is worth £1,187.57 in 2020, this is calculated on an average annual 5.5% rate of inflation, or put another way prices in 2020 are 1727% higher than 1967. Now that is certainly not the £11,300 that this new one is going to cost. 😁

I really like the look of the watch, but at around £11k in the UK!! That’s crazy money. I’ll stick with my fifty three year old 105.003.65 which is probably the same money!

Here here.

Nice looker but personally at that price point and even taking in to account service costs you could get so much vintage for the same money. I will stick with my beaten up 003-64 as my only Speedy.

I just received an email from my local Omega Boutique regarding the new watch. The price is $14,100 and they are asking for a full deposit to guarantee to receive the piece.

Because servicing a vintage speedy every 5/6 year it's going to be so much cheaper than service this......

Receive it when? This year, 2021 or some other year?

This is from the email:

“Priced at $14,100, this exceptional piece of history is not a limited edition, but only an estimated 1,000 units will be produced worldwide annually. Due to the exceptionally high demand only avid enthusiasts who have placed a full deposit are guaranteed to receive their piece.”
