Following the same logic, does this mean we can expect the 60th to be a diamond Speedmaster?

Don't give them ideas!

I think I will still make up my mind when I see it. I am interested in seeing how they will incorporate the two tone, what they will do with the dials, hands, crowns and especially with the case back and whatever foot they will put on there. But on paper, I might have to back out and get my deposit back. 2019 is so far an easy year to save money 😀

Will be personally disappointing if it is two tone. The speedmaster used on Apollo 11 was a tool watch, pure and simple, and the main LE to commemorate the 50th should be SS. Just because 50th anniversaries are called “golden” isn’t sufficient justification to make the LE two tone IMO. Following the same logic, does this mean we can expect the 60th to be a diamond Speedmaster?

I completely agree. If they insist on adding gold, they can put it on parts of the box. If they want it on the watch, make the caseback a gold eagle or something, but not out in the open like a bezel. Let's hope they didn't drop the ball this hard and the real surprise is a SS one making the two-tone a distraction all along.

When's Omega supposed to launch stuff this week now that Swatch Group isn't part of Baselworld anymore? I thought they'd do it already by now?

I thought we would see something by now too. Does anybody know when they plan to show what's next?

I think it's common knowledge the current event in Zurich is dealer only, but I have heard there is a press event in Zurich in May.

As of my understanding it is just off limits for the general public. Surely enough any event of whatever nature may not get away without journalists, right? Otherwise it will be only dealers aware what new products Omega came up with, and that would be .... quite disappointing for Omega.

New models (speed with 321, 50th anniversary Appolo 11...) will likely be released to the public by March 26th when the Swatch Group event ends. It could be today or tomorrow. Today seems a good day actually.

Not a #SpeedyTuesday but this Saturday on 23rd March 1965, the first Gemini III mission was launched with astronauts, for the very first time, wearing the Omega Speedmaster chronograph as official wrist watch for all manned NASA spaceflight missions
...
Interesting #SpeedyTuesdays dates ( suitable for presentations, opening museum & other events )
Tuesday 16th April = 50 years since Apollo 11 lunar EVA training started in MSC Building 9
Tuesday 21st May = 50 years since roll-out Apollo 11 Saturn V launch vehicle
Tuesday 16th July = 50 years since Apollo 11 launch
Tuesday 23rd July = quasi 50 years since Apollo 11 splashdown 🍿

If they take much longer people won’t have a chance to obtain one in what’s supposed to be the anniversary year - going by previous roll-out times for new watches! 🙁

As nobody questions why today would be a good day, well let me tell you that today is March 21. 3 21. Ok, ok it is a bit far-fetched.

Isn't it common practice in many european countries to write the day number first, followed by the month? i.e., it would be 21.03.19 in Switzerland)

Yes, in Europe we tend to use the logical date format, logical measurement units etc 😜

Edit: he could be onto something though, based on how fast they are bringing new models after announcements we could be seeing the first 321 movement in 03.21 , just a few more years to go

FFSake I will have spent up on Seikos by may time why not just say when it is. And by the sound of this two tone there's not much to wait for. I can see these two tone watches sitting next to all the datejust in ad windows hehe 30% off
