Two independent dealers in Switzerland who went on a Omega presentation today. However taking photos was not allowed... I have another friend who will join for the Thursday presenation during the „Time to move“ event. Swatch groups answer to Baselworld, but only retailers allowed.
Before I cancel my deposit (which I plan on doing if no steel model is introduced) If anyone wants to buy my reservation you are welcome to it. Not looking to make a penny, I put down a $5,000 deposit and you can pay me $5,000 and take my spot. Don't know if there will be a great demand for these two pieces if they indeed end up being all gold and two tone, but if someone wants my spot you can have it. I will not be purchasing either of these models as they do not interest me...
Let's not give up hope everyone lol. I'm still crossing my fingers for an all-steel version and maybe it will just have to come later in the year. A 321 in SS I don't plan on seeing unfortunately and probably something like platinum. Why is Omega making this harder than it has to be? Did they not listen to our requests for years on this forum? Who wears gold in 2019? I haven't even seen a gold wedding band in ages. I also don't get why Buzz's footprint specifically (whatever that means) would be on the back when he wasn't the first on the moon...
No, it's this watch from the 80s: http://www.db1983.com/our-archive/omega-speedmaster-da-145022-two-tone-1986 Speaking of which, the 80s was the last time gold watches were in style...
They've all but explicitly stated that the first run of 321s will be in precious-metal cases. I'd bet you'll have to wait at least 3 years before they expand the range to something that might include a steel model
Has anyone heard anything out of the Swatch Group Time to Move event? I know it's for retailers only but I'm really looking forward to hearing about Omega's new releases, especially other Apollo XI Speedmaster models...
Gold watches ... two-tone watches ... never thought Omega’s offerings for this anniversary would be so lame. Good news, though, as I won’t be remotely tempted to part with a single dollar as a result.
Will be personally disappointing if it is two tone. The speedmaster used on Apollo 11 was a tool watch, pure and simple, and the main LE to commemorate the 50th should be SS. Just because 50th anniversaries are called “golden” isn’t sufficient justification to make the LE two tone IMO. Following the same logic, does this mean we can expect the 60th to be a diamond Speedmaster?
