So what time is the cape canavaral thing?
I think it's scheduled for 7pm EDT. I read that it's going to be more of a black tie event than a press conference. I'm hoping there will be some news on either the LE or an update to the standard version, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'll be at the bar. Wearing gold jacket. To match the bezel.

Make sure you have the footprint on your back, the gold logo on your subdial, and the dot over your 90.

Just got back from my AD - whose name is Brett, FYI. Now Brett has got some brains on him, and somehow managed to get his hands on a 50th Anniversary Speedy. I didn't manage to get a pic of the watch itself, but I did get a reaction shot. Is the gold detailing over stated - well see for yourself:

Also, I'm pretty sure that cigarette wasn't lit when I opened the case.

I'm amazed and surprised that Omega has been able to keep a lid on this watch. No leaked pictures of a watch that is in production and has been seen by hundreds of people. Quite a feat in a world of social media and smartphones.

Well, NASA has been able to keep the moon landing hoax a secret all these years.... The irony is thick.

My dear departed mother was a bit of a UFO fan and an occasional moon landing hoax believer. I remember she had a book, "We Never Went to the Moon" which we would discuss, and then she got a personalized plate for her Mustang (MUFON), this was back in the early 80's. MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) was/is an organization in the USA which studies UFO's, all volunteer. She had several people stop her and recognized what the plate meant, and then asked for her opinion on UFO's which my mother would gladly give. Haven't thought of that in years.

I think Brett got his devious hands on the full gold version released a few weeks back. The amount of moonshine gold required to generate that "space cadet glow" on Mr Travolta must surely be more than just a bezel and some hand/dial detailing.😒😁

My POV is that only thing that really matters is whether the 3861 movement is indeed flight qualified by NASA. If not well I can't see why this watch is more important from a collector perspective than the 20th, 30th, 40th, 45th Anniversary LEs.

Don't worry, Buzz Aldrin, will test it out while swigging his Geritol (older folks will know what this stuff is). If it survives Buzz's home it'll be deemed FLIGHT QUALIFIED. No one is going to challenge Buzz's viewpoint on matters like this.

I imagine that either you jest, or.../
Nothing in my post is true my dude. Just so we're clear. It was entirely in jest. Brett is the poor soul in Pulp Fiction who gets himself shot at the end of Samuel's screed in scripture.
