the movement of the limited edition will be the 321, and the presentation box will be spectacular, the watch will be held with a kit of the lunar module.
Looks not logical to me. Why didn’t use it for all gold version then?

To differentiate the two and create a purist version to meet watch nerds demand for a steel version as close to the flown version as possible?

I believe it was mentioned in this thread many times that on launch event of 321, there was info that 321 will NOT be in 50th anniversary apollo 11 watch.

Who says that??
Exactly this has been denied from Aeschlimann personally at the 321 Launch Event...
Did he change his mind based on user expectation? Does not make sense for me... 🤨

So they didn’t put a 321 in a $36K watch but they will in a $10k 🤨

The 321 will not be out until after the 50th.....as mentioned by Omega.

It was stated many time. The anniversary SS watch will have the new 3861 movement. My source confirmed it as well.

I heard exactly the same and this would account for the difference or strange price in this year's SS version. To add more confusion I had also heard that a leather or material strap would be fitted not a bracelet.

Absolutely incorrect, movement will be the one in the 50th all gold version, that is a known fact from Omega. People need to stop obsessing over the 321. And the watch will come with steel bracelet, another known fact from Omega. Wishing for a 321 in this watch is just that, wishful thinking. It ain't happening.

Delivery of these 50th anniversary Speedmasters is slated to be in the Jun/Jul/Aug timeframe which means they are already in production (or close to it), yet there has not been any sort of leaks within the Omega system, that is remarkable. Usually spy photos creep out of hush-hush product introductions. Of course Omega could blow the delivery window but I doubt that would happen, it's too big of an event to let it slip much past the actual moon-landing date.

I have a deposit down for one and my AD also said deliveries would start around July / August.

The manager of the boutique went to the omega dealer event last month and actually had the watch in his hand. But they are not giving out any details. The only thing I was told is that it is stainless steel with gold accents, 6969 pieces, and $9,600. (But we all know this already)
He also said “it’s a spectacular piece”

Well, if Omega can unload all those 6969 pieces quickly, their marketing dept will have earned all my respect. 10k a pop for a ss speedy burdened with a coaxial... Chapeau as we say in French.

Is 6969 a high number for LE? Do you think somebody without a purchase history should be able to get one from an OB?

I would consider it a high number. But on the other hand I heard only around 10% of those will be for the US market. (I have heard numbers between 500 and 700). So as far as getting one without purchase history, it all depends on the demand and how many people are on the list at your OB or AD.

I’m in the U.K. no list as yet. No OB will acknowledge the model.

I went to an AD in Toronto a few weeks ago and inquired there. They said they had no information at all about the watch but a lot of people were calling and asking about it. When I asked if they had a list, he said no list as the watch doesn’t exist yet!
