Hi folks,

I'm considering picking up this vintage Omega Seamaster Calendar Automatic in yellow gold (ref. 2849 with caliber 503). It looks pretty clean overall, but I'm a bit new to spotting redials and would appreciate some expert eyes on it. The dial is silver/cream with those distinctive arrowhead markers, "Omega Automatic" at the top, "Seamaster Calendar" below, and just "Swiss" at the bottom (not "Swiss Made" like I'd expect). Date window at 3 o'clock showing 30 in the pics. Calendar lettering/seize seems off?

Attached are a few close-up shots from different angles. Does this look like an original dial or a redial/refinish? I've heard that "Swiss" alone can sometimes be a red flag on these mid-1950s pieces. Any thoughts on authenticity or approximate year would be a bonus too.

Yes, a poor redial. Here's a contrasting example of an original:

Good job asking first. Spend some time looking at lots of examples, and soon enough you will identify font errors by second nature.
