Hi, I found this Omega Seamaster Calendar Ref. 2627 for sale - what do you guys think about it? If everything is ok, how much could it be worth?

Its real and 14K solid gold so there's some value there, but the dial has been repainted and the case is quite heavily polished so from a collector perspective it doesn't have a great deal of value.

As a watch to wear if you already own it, its perfectly fine but I wouldn't be a buyer at any price above melt + the value of the movement as that's where the value lies in this piece in its current condition.

Unfortunately it's a redial. Here some originals to compare the printing.

Ok, since I want to learn, how can you tell if it’s a redial? What should I look for?

To start with the shape of the S in Seamaster and the font of Calendar.

Okay, does this mean it’s a fake dial, or is it the original dial that has been reprinted?

The dial has been reprinted.

The dial has been reprinted.
This obviously lowers the value. In your opinion, in gold, as it is, how much could it be worth?

I don't know you need to weigh the case

Repainted dial, soft over-polished case, the value as a collectible watch is pretty much gone. The remaining value is for the gold case as scrap and the movement for parts. If you are interested in owning a collectible vintage watch, just move on.

Here’s my close-up shot of reference 2627.

Please note the differences in the letters ‘e’ and ‘r’ in Chronometer, and the clearly different ‘R’ in Calendar. 😀

You mean Seamaster, not Chronometer?

Looking at details is good, but in this case all of the printing is obviously wrong for the era, starting with OMEGA.

I mean, both of my watches use the original font. There are slight variations, as I mentioned when comparing my close-up pictures, but overall, this is how it should look.

Ok, thanks for the pics, I'll pass on this one, this is the second Omega that I posted and got destroyed here😟 I think I'll be back with some pics of a Constellation 2852 full gold, they are asking around 2800€.

Try to educate yourself further before posting 1 watch after another. When you see reference you like then search on OF with Advanced search and read as much as you can about it so you know what to look for. The more you educate yourself the more informed and better buyer you will be.
