Good day,
Dear Watch Friend,

I recently purchased an Omega Seamaster 300 “Big Triangle” 165.024 - 64 SC.
Could you please share your thoughts on the overall condition of the watch? I am particularly interested in expert opinions regarding the originality of the bezel, hands, dial, and crown.

Any detailed insight or evaluation from experienced collectors would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards

Have you done your own investigation and comparison? What do you think?

The short answer: All the parts shown except the movement are not authentic. If you closely compare the parts to known genuine examples, it is quite clear.

I could write an essay pointing out all the issues, but the easiest initial red flag is that there is no such thing as a 165.024-64 big triangle.

Thank you for your reply. I would be very grateful if you could share your opinion point by point.

Which parts do you believe are non-original?
Bezel, Dial, Hands, Case, Crown, Caseback.

Do you think all parts are aftermarket, or only some of them?

Thank you in advance for your detailed feedback.

You have already been given the answer. He said all but... and meant all but...

In the future I would recommend asking for opinions before purchasing, not after. And I would try hard to get my money back.

Thanks for the invitation, but I don’t have the time nor the energy to go on and on about this watch, when you have taken minimal initiative on your own (other than ignoring my question and posting AI responses) to review the dozens of threads on this forum discussing similar watches or any of the resources online.

In sum, this watch isn’t even close. All parts except the movement are fake, counterfeit, not authentic, etc (not even aftermarket).

We are seeing a spate of these yet again. I despair whenever I see a thread with SM300 in the title...

I don’t know why I keep looking at these types of threads, either. I come in assuming it’s just another fake from a “drive-by” poster, but every so often there’s a good find with a nice story, so I keep at it.

Same. Honestly, I feel bad sometimes. I was grateful to have the help of others on the forum when I first bought a 166.024, but the posts about these fake watches have dramatically increased in number and have become increasingly low effort.

Every so often, it’s nice to come across a story or post about a barn find. Still genuinely willing to give back to help somebody hunting for one though.

Yup, my overwhelming expectation is "fake." Newbies are just biting on them left and right. And afterwards they come here.

We’ll await the next lucky buyer who will wonder why he is greeted with world wearily cynicism rather than shared joy at his fantastic find. It gets tiring after a while saying ‘ask first buy later’ or ‘ just avoid these if you don’t know what you are doing’ over and over. Ah well.
